I can't see a corporation ignoring the huge number of sales they'd lose if they developed this strictly for nex-gen. Simply brushing Aside aside the millions of PS3 and 360 users. Not likely. It'll probably be released for both generations.

That would be a good move but, we'll see.

I hope that DA:I is NOT a soley exclusive next gen game personally. I get that the improved capacity of the new consoles would mean better games in the long run but let's look at the trends of the previous gen crossover.

Developers coming into a new console won't use it efficiently. This is not a knock on Bioware's skill but a simple observation. Look at the release titles of the current generation vs. the recent games. The release titles look horrible by comparison; same processing power was available but the current titles look better, that is because the Developers learned how to efficiently utilize the systems strengths.

Bug / Red Rings of Death are another issue with next gen consoles which comes with every new release. I don't want to see DA:I suffer from these inevitable errors on a new console when the current systems are (for the most part) bug free.

Ports are a big problem I can foresee hindering DA:I reception, all of which tie back to the unfamiliarity Bioware will have with the systems. I don't want to play a watered down port anymore then I would want to play a game taken from the current systems and slapped into the next gen.

Just my two cents on the subject.

Great news, if only because more dev time SHOULD mean the game receives more attention and polish and will thus become better.

Let's hope bioware learned from the DA2 and ME3 mess.

Playing on pc so the console choice doesn't affect me but maybe with them bringing it to next gen consoles the graphics will also look decent and we face fewer limitations. Some still don't want to admit it but... 7 year old hardware? Come on...

I think a possible scenario is that the game is released in 2013 on current gen consoles. If it sells well, in a couple of months they will release a next-gen port as well.

I don't think they will pour money into the game, getting it ready for the graphics and hardware boost of a next gen title if it doesn't sell well on the current gen. Similarly, I don't think they will debut with a next-gen only title, if only because it will cut their market share and it will cost them a lot more to do so.

November 2013 Current Gen release, June 2014 next gen release.

That's my prediction. Where's some Vegas odds makers?

How about we all wait until there is an  ***official*** announcement?

I still think it will be released for both generation consoles. It makes sense profit wise.

But its best if we wait for an official announcement.

We have no concrete information as to when the next generation consoles will be out or when the game will be out. One thing to look at in terms of the xbox is that microsoft generally releases their new software in October. They really don't move from that time frame.

that sucks... I was going to get it on PC anyway providing that they program the game to also use pamepad as an option. Only Bioware doesnt include this and it bugs me, but if it gets a PC version like it should, then Ill def be getting it for that and not my PS3.

But the Engine is current Gen meaning this would be a horrible game on a Next Gen console

This logic makes no sense, you speak as if this has never been done before and successful. Look at Halo 3, Oblivion, Metal gear solid 4. Its called launch titles which sole purpose is to get people to buy a system. Ideally when a new generation is rolled out they dont want people to hold onto their consoles by releasing a Triple A game for both the old consoles and the new ones. The point is to force people to buy a new system by releasing must have games.

No release date speculation, please. Once a release date has been determined, an announcement will be posted to the forum. You know, like BioWrae does with every game it's released.

End of line.
