The Dragon Age website claims that the expansion is available for PC, XBox, and PS3, but I'm not seeing anything available on PSN, or in game.

Am I being an idiot, or is it actually not available yet?

First proposition.
(just kidding :P)

The website says it will be available on January 5, 2010, so try tomorrow ;)

I don't think it's available tomorrow for the PS3. If you watch the trailer, it says later in January for the PS3.

Ah yes, I remember now I've seen official words about that on the official Return to Ostagar topic, stating PS3 release will not be at the same time than for PC & XBOX. Not release date was specified.

I for one, do actually like how rigorous Sony's Certification process is. It means that we have less game-breaking DLC, released and then yanked within days because its flawed. The Cert process (as annoying as any other delay) isn't just about giving consumers a stable product, it's also about making sure no glitches/flaws that could exploit the copy protection on the PS3 ever make it out the door. Sony gets good mileage out of the fact they are the only console this gen with a 0% piracy rate.

I actually agree 100%. As much as it pains me to wait (and for all the complaining that I do =p) I do understand that Sony's committment to putting out quality product is top of the line. Of course, they do this as much out of their own pride than a desire to put the best product out for the customer.

well guess the new DLC is being delayed for PC and XBox now. am not sure why, yet. maybe this means they will all come at once, who knows. and no I am not complaining about Sony's Certification, I am more wishing that the devs would take it into account when determining release dates for multi-platform content. hate when my friends who play the game on another system get stuff first and rat all the secreats out to me. ;)

So how do you explain the all the glitches we have...

And as for the patch...i really do think it would have passed the certification process eons ago if it had been submitted. Thus the later release date on the expansion and all that.  The delays can't be explained just by the certification process and community's stonewall communication...I've seen it before (eve-online mac client) and thus it's almost identical to this. No communication, no patch..no expansion.  We're lowest on the foodchain and I wouldn't be surprised if we have to wait for a month or two.

They have probably filled the PS3 quota and are now trying to fill the quota on other platforms by concentrating the efforts and marketing into those. Can't say I'm too surprised though. It's a business after all, not charity.

The thing that actually interests me more is why the character update on the EA accounts stopped working. That's something that broke without any patching to the client. Either they screwed up something big after or the user amounts exceeded their predictions and thus caused the whole system to crash (thus would explain the possible filled quota too).

Even more odd is the lack of community contact on their behalf for the know bugs that have fixes and people are asking for help. Of course we ourself can answer the questions and help, but that's hardly our job.

Ps. if you need help with issues in dragon age, contact the customer support directly. No point in posting it on the forums.

pps. Of course a community manager might have actually died (been in that situation too, where everyone joked that is he/she dead or what? And it actually was the case, so that caused a lot of grief). With Vicar joining the ranks i wouldn't doubt that scenario either, but i think they would have informed us about that.

I was wondering about Return to Ostagar also. I purchased the points for it 12/18/09 and although it looks like it's been released, it doesn't show up in my available content. (I'm on PC) in USA

However Bioware sure has created one helluva game, imho.

Oh good, it's not just me. I was getting worried that something was wrong with my PS3. Hope this comes out soon, looking forward to it.

It's simply weak to announce something and then say: ooh wait, were not totally ready.. they did it with Return to Ostagar 2 times.... first it was "this holliday", then "5th of January" now it's "Later"

Weak...

yes well this time wasn't Biowares fault, apparently Microsoft found a small bug in the achievments for the DLC. so that is what is being fixed. hopefully should not take too long. hmm let's hope the trophies did not have the same type of bug. would be funny if we got the DLC before 360, for once.

I read something in a interview with Bioware on the topic of Awakening where they did mention that RtO will hopefully be out by the end of the month. I am not sure if I can wait that long @_@

unfortunately since the ps3 version was scheduled for "later in january" and with all versions delayed without a new scheduled date, plus with sony's cert process (which i'm grateful), since the dlc has to be resubmited to sony, it could be a long while. i think it would be safe to say that once the dlc hits the 360, it'll probably be out about 1 to 3 weeks before we see it on the ps3... unless they decide to release it at the same time for every console.

If your looking for a tougher replay, try leaving everyone else at camp unless 'forced' to keep them in party (like oghren) for story sequences. With just you out there, the world is a lot rougher, but you do rack up the kills quick ;)
