I'm currently playing an elven rogue and have a pretty high cunning. I think it's around 30 when I'm supposed to go to the Tower of Ishal.
Anyway, when I get to the second floor of the tower and Alistair asks why the darkspawn are there, I get an additional response which wasn't there. I assume it's because of the cunning score.
The response was something like:
- Why attack the tower unless they knew the battle plan?
So do you think the darkspawn knew about the plans? And if so, who told them? Uldred? Loghain?
Did the darkspawn know about the Ostagar battle plans?

You're assuming that the Darkspawn are indeed a mindless horde and that they do not send their Shrieks to scout or otherwise gather intelligence on the enemy forces. For all we know they, or more precisely, the Archdemon, could be reading the minds of older wardens who're more effected by the taint.

Pretty sure the darkspawn scouting parties knew the army was at ostagar.
