I have lately come to the horrifying realization that the brightest star of my life is a shameless maleficar. She doesn't even try to hide it. Last night I woke up to the sound of battle and saw her fighting some qunari intruders, and I felt the better for it, knowing our land is safe, but then I saw her making some strange gestures, blood started gushing out of her neck and saw her enemies perish in some terrifying fashion. I'm afraid she knows that I know, she's been acting smug all day. Should I be worried? Is it normal for a woman of her (dragon) age? Is there anything I can do to protect myself?

Maker bless you, sir.

A blood mage lover isn't so much a problem as an EVIL blood mage lover. If she starts ranting at dinner about unlimited power or "those Chantry fools and their out-dated morality," then you need to seek counseling. Or cut her head off with an axe, either way.

Blood Magic is a serious and increasingly common issue in today's society. While seemingly harmless at first, it can soon lead to dependency, tiredness, possession, meglomania and bad breath, and is generally bad for your health. Although it may be hard for her to admit, you must have a serious talk with your wife. Remind her that Blood Magic harms not only her, but also those around her if the Veil is torn and demons burst through and mindrape everyone.

If your wife has trouble giving up Blood Magic, consider using the Litany of Adralla in order to help ween her off it.

How can someone bleed for 5 days a month but not die? Blood magic is powerful indeed.
