Have to say that I haven't been involved in many conversations which are structered like the average Bioware conversation. Usually when I converse in real life it's a lot more bantery a lot less of an interrogation. In Bioware games the player character just asks whatever questions on his mind, and each question is answered with a wall of text, and these conversations are usually one on one without any group members interjecting.
I guess I'd prefer to feel more like I'm interacting with people and that Bioware conversations make me feel like some cop interrogating a witness which I guess is okay in a game like L.A. Noire, but Bioware don't do those kind of games, so yeah, it bothers me.
So are we like detectives investigating everyone we meet?

Every conversation will be an inquisition.
Hohaho.
But yeah. Kinda true though. Your job as the hero and the needs of the plot is usually such that you're the one asking questions. Is there an RPG that has back-and-forth dialogue that you like? I can't think of any that don't operate in basically the same way.

Yes we do.
I also hope I will be able to burn as many witches as I can ...

Well, investigate options aren't always necessarily questions, if you want to get technical. They've always come off to me (even in games pre-wheel) as more topics of conversation. It all depends on how you interpret things.

No we are stalkers investigating one person until they offer to have sex with us.

Yes, I can finally put my LA Noire skills of accusing everybody I meet of murder and threatening them back to use.

It would certainly be nice to see more group conversations. Every time you saw two companions together in DA2 one of them would leave so you could have a one-on-one. "Oh, I see our mutual friend has come to see you. Let me just... leave." o.O
