thanks,

question in the same vein though. Any recommendations are stats/skills/spells that'd be useful for an arcane warrior?

As for stats. Magic is the way to go, first and foremost.

As for spells... I imagine the ones like Frost or Fire weapons.

Definitely spells which don't require you to sheathe your weapons are helpful. Fire and Ice spells do require a few extra seconds to sheathe your weapons. I reccomend Arcane Shield or Rock Armor for defense. Some kind of crowd control is great, I took the ice line and didn't regret it. Others love to take the Crushing Prison line. Keep in mind as an Arcane Warrior, if you use Shimmering Shield your mana is constantly draining, so no spells for you. Unless you're a Blood mage that is. >:D

Stats? Take a chunk of willpower for a bigger mana pool for your consistent buffs, magic of course, and a sprinkling of constitution / dexterity. You'll miss a lot so be prepared for that.

If you haven't found it already, its in the lower ruins. It is in the same room as the broken altar. It helps to hold Tab to find the broken altar. Once you find that, you should see couple of bottles on the ground not far from the altar.

can you only unlock this specialty if you are a mage? I'm a warrior, but I want to get this for morrigan or wynne.

Anyone can unlock it, even Rogues or Warriors. You can give it to Morrigan or use it on a subsequent playthrough as a mage.

or you can continue to play mage with a staff but wearing armor instead of clothes ... which is like trading some of the mage oriented beneficial stats on good mage clothing for more defense.

I couldn't view this post without replying cuz AW is my favorite spec in game. If you intend in playing AW, i suggest your second spec to be BM(blood mage)

Bump All into Magic. A little in CON if you like but not necessary

This combo works like this: Using the little mana you've got for sustained spells and your health points for active spells. It'll be able to solo the High Dragon/Flemeth in no time (with the right gear and spells of course, google it for more info about AW/BM)

I play my AW differently. With the Juggernaught Armor set you have quite a bit of elemental resistance and you can find still more jewely to give you more. What I did with my AW, he's Spirit healer/AW mix which equates to being a Palladin, though you could go Bloodmage/AW and be a Dread Knight. Spells I go for first are the Primal Cold line for Blizzard, and then Entropy Weakness line for Mass Paralasis along with a group heal and either drain life line for death cloud or Hex Line for debuffs.
You can have Wynne or Morrigan to take up the other lines so that you don't have overlaps and have them cast along side you. The way I open combat is to have both my PC and my other spell caster lay down the Crowd Control spells, Blizzard + Inferno + Mass Paralasis + Death Cloud = a lot frozen helpless and soon to be dead enemies. After casting I just go into warrior mode and bring the wrath of god onto the poor souls that think they can ****** my AW off and live. :)

There are lots of possibilities in the game as you can see. One completely different than the other. You may choose your own way based in what you know, the forums are a good place to learn a bit about everything.
