I am new to this game, and I just got Leliana to teach me the bard spec, but I don't know if I should take it for my rouge archer. So if you guys could tell me what you think would be the best specs for an archer that would be great .

Bard is great if you're going the 36 dex max cunning route with lethality. The 3rd bard song improves your party's damage quite well as its effectiveness is based off of cunning. Its definitely not bad for a dex based archer but if you're going that way I personally would take ranger before bard as a maxed ranger spec gives you a powerful spider pet with a web crowd control and overwhelm.

So ranger/bard is good, that was what I was planning on but I didn't know if it the bard songs were good. I am doing the 36 dex/max cunning/lethality so I will take bard first then. Thanks for the help

I'd recommend sticking some points into Cunning, but don't max it. Why? The boost from dexterity is actually better than the boost from Song of Courage if you toss all your points into Dex as opposed to cunning (Although you'd lose the additional Armor Penetration from Cunning). You could also go Duelist to boost your attack rating. Toss some dagger into your alternate weapon slot, switch to that, and activate Pinpoint Strikes, switch back, and you've got yourself 10 free crits on your bow. Pretty nice.
