Eh, I didn't even know that this DLC existed until say, five minutes before it was delayed. I have no reason to be upset, unlike some of you. Whatever the reason for the delay, be patient. Your content will come and we shall all rejoice. And then we will revel in our glory as things are blown up in Mass Effect 2 at the end of the month.
Well the problem is all of us knew about the end of November when it was slanted for "this holliday season" but was delayed. Then they said January 5th, and it is delayed again. I agree with you, patience is important, but you are asking people to have patience, who have been patient for a month.

Or maybe they will simply never acknowledge it again like they did with Pinnacle Station. Annoucements of announcements followed by nothing but silence and they never acknowledged the DLC even after it released.

We’re sorry but the planned Return to Ostagar downloadable content scheduled to launch on January 5th has been delayed for all platforms.
I don't know how to make it any clearer than the analogy I'd made: EA and Bioware are not, or should not be, game arts students cramming in a midterm assignment hoping to make the grade. They are a professional company. The product should have been "ready for shipping" before release date. It definitely should have been playtested before now. And lest we forget, they set the January 5th date themselves, and not even so long ago! No one forced that date on them. To announce a release date and then announce a delay mere hours before that date is staggeringly amateurish. We're talking "a lot of someones better have been fired" levels of amateurish. There's really nothing else to it. "It's just a game." It is a product and a business like any other, except that in no other medium would this ever be acceptable We all know it wouldn't fly in your job, or in mine, or in anyone else's.HolyRomanCousinConsort wrote...
Your main point is that they knew before today that it had to be delayed. Perhaps that is true, but here is what I think.
Yesterday they thought maybe we will have to delay, but it's not sure yet, there's still a chance we can fix everything on time. So they still try to meet the deadline anyway. In the end they failed, but are still honest enough to delay the product than to sell something sub-par and patch it up later.
Anyway, this is all speculation on my part, we will know the truth of the matter later. Perhaps this is another EA attempt at a simultaneous release on all platforms? Now that would be intolerable to me.
