Mr Woo any chance of looking at the topic I linkied a page or two back, I think that might solve some of the issues with the pointless/childish bickering :)

I second the request :)

I "third" the request....?  Can I do that?  Is that even a verb?

Wow. So I begin checking back to see if there are any updates and all I see are silly insults. What's the latest news?

I do not know if this was official form someone at Bioware b/c I am yet to search through all 167 growing pages but word is that they feard gamers would feel the content was too short. I assume its a few day delay to let the slow programming of the PS3 catch up. Nothing official that I've read yet though.

So what is the new date? they took off the January 5th available for download off of the site, with no new date. But they can announce an expansion pack with no date, but the ability to pre-order it...for sometime this holiday year time of day or some where around the 2010 time if not pushed back...blah blah blah....I already bought the points expecting the download...where is it?

"When it's ready". While it does annoy me that it missed this deadline, it's not like I really need it right now (I mean, I still have to finish at least one playthrough yet).

I believe Mass Effect 2 is being developed in Bioware's Alberta, Canada branch, whereas Dragon Age and associated DLC is a product of Bioware's Austin, Texas branch.. With that in mind, I wouldn't expect any shared issues with content release dates.

No, only the MMO is being developed in Austin.

W-what about Teagan?:o

Teagan lives on in our hearts. No really, he uses our hearts as little dimensional portals to go anywhere he wants. That's why he's still around.

I think this is console problem and Bioware wants to have a cross platform release. What do you guys think? Console issue or major cross platform bug?

Major, plus most of the revenue comes from the 360 and PS3 market because a higher amount of gamers with those systems, being their access to gaming.

ROFLMAO...consoles Bioware's major revenue?!  OK for all u 360 and PS3 owners out there Bioware has how many PC exclusive titles?...also lets not forget that the whole reason Bioware is on the gaming map is b/c of their PC only titles dating back to BG.  So for the last time lets stop giving the console owners excuses...u want good graphics that blow 1080p out of the water?,,,cough up the money and get urslef a nice PC and stop complaining about delays for ur DLC and crap.  Sorry ive had that pent up ever since ppl started telling me that PC gaming is dieing...if that was the case i would have dropped Bioware a longtime ago...and i own both a PS3 and 360 before anyone says otherwise...but if a game comes out on PC i buy it for the PC.  Just my 2 cents im sure there r alot of other PC owners out there who feel the same...i just happen to be one of the unsilent majority LOL.

A few posts, but nothing insightful. Mainly there has just been a bunch of failed trolling. They also said they'll close the thread if we're off topic.

On topic - What do you think is the cause of the delay?

Lucky. I've beaten it so many times that the game itself wont let me create any new characters. 'Tis most sad.

A serious note now.

They have burned themselves twice with with a release date. If they are wise they are not going to do that for the third time. So my guess they will only publsh a date when they are 110% sure they will going to make that.

And the only way they will be able to that is to announce the release date the same moment it is released. So my guess is will see no more release dates in the future, more it ready guys come and get it kind of announcement.

Hey heres an idea Bioware. If you (being us) preorder the new expansion we get the redeem code for free. That'll make up for the stupid delays of "this holiday season' cause if Valentines or Arbor day is considered 'this holiday season' I swear I'll **** on that new expansion before I play it.

Yeah but WHEN did they pick up on the issue? If they caught it right before submision for certification then it's a couple of days at best whereas if they found out about the issue yesterday....likely due to a failed certification then it will be weeks. If they delayed submission for certification then they may have not said anything earlier because they thought it may have been possible for it to still come out a bit earlier and make the 5th. And NO fixing a bug doesn't have to mean an entirely new build....all the work they did is still in place.

XBL DID update the RtO achievement yesterday and an italian site lists RtO as expected tomorrow(the 6th) so I am thinking that the certification did not fail and may have simply gone into certiffication even later than originally expected.

Unless the bug has nothing to do with the DLC content itself and instead has something to do with maybe how other things interact with the DLC, I'm pretty sure a new build is in order. The moment you alter anything, even it's a small variable, it's no longer the old build/version of the DLC and the new version has to be certified. At least that's what I've learned from my small amount of QA and programming experience out in the world. However, it's entirely possible that the issue has something to do with something else so we could see it sooner than later.

Hmmmm, well if you say XBL updated with the achievement yesterday, it's possible the issue wasn't found in certification but maybe they found it while testing future DLC or maybe even DA: Awakening for compatibility with the DLC. It's possible they pushed back the certification but it doesn't really seem likely based on when we got the release date.

Yeah but see you're insiting a console debacle and it's stupid. PC vs Console doesn't get anyone anywhere. Just stay on topic and stop with the needless bull ******.

Eh, **** happens. Get over it. BioWare does kind of fail for their various release date flubs, but make that point calmly, not by ranting, bro.

Thanks.  Well, that seems like good news to me.  Bioware won't be getting any nerdrage from me.  I'm happy enough.=]
