Feel the rage can you feel it

Is nobody happy there's a huge expac only a few months away?

Happy? What do you expect? A lot of people have been waiting last December and a lot got happy when a date was posted only to be disappointed yet again for the second time.

Would you be happy with a buggy dlc instead?

Who told you that it is buggy? Its a DLC for crying out loud not an expansion. /jeez

Can you think of any other reason they wouldn't release it?

I see alot of complaining babies. I mean come on you want em to release crap or do you want a bug fixed they found? I mean i would rather sit by and wait patiently for a possible bug fix than them to release crap. Wish everyone who is complaining would grow up. Tah Tah.

Nope, not in the couple hours or so since Chris last said that there was no ETA yet, and that when we had information to share, we would.

It should have been fixed before they had a release date.

Thats it, end of story, they ****ed up so we have the right to complain.

Question to all QQ-bears: If you're at the ice cream bar, where the creation of your favorite-flavored ice cream takes an average 1 minute, and it takes them 10 seconds longer to produce it... would you cry as hard for that as for this issue..?

-

Remind: A program is something which takes months to produce... so what's the loss of 24 or even 48 hours? In such a process quality goes for quantity...

-

Or do you like a tasteless bunch of ice cream..?

Executive decision at EA to what coincide with the release of ME2 to create additional buzz? Oh well that's marketing strategy and saving. Imagine putting up a single press release for two games, that can save a lot of money and advertising.

Geeze. Ease up some folks. Bioware produces some really nice products. I did enjoy some of the humor in the handwringing of various posts that tells me there is really not that much hate and discontent. But I gotta say I'm glad I'm not in Bioware's shoes: Walking the thin line between an unspecified delay and getting hate, or kicking the product out "on time" and suffering hate from the cries of woe when it crashes. The delay cost them revenue. I'm sure it hurts them more than it hurts us. I will instead enjoy the new NCIS with with the family and wait for the DLC to show up some day.

As long as they don't pull a Bethsoft and leave all their glitches unpatched and more or less say, "deal with it" I'll continue to love them.

So your long supportive fans really have to be treated like children when the bills are getting our of hand? We can't know the reason for the delay or is it just hard to find in all 170 pages! lol. Was it really b/c Bioware felt the DLC was too short? B/c $5=hour of gameplay would make me one happy gamer

So I take it in all 178 pages, no mod has given us a reason or any kind of time line or anything?

It could be worse - it could be published by Atari - then they'd tell us to expect an update and never deliver one... Patience people! If it has been delayed, it is for a reason - maybe a voice actor got sick and couldn't get some lines out in time, or maybe they found a nasty bug while playtesting that eats babies and spits out swooping barbarians and darkspawn... I swear, this whole thread has it's own sense of pathetic-ness (I make it up as I go along) in the sense that we are so used to instant gratification, there's so much whining when we don't get it... Think back 100 years ago - if a manufacturer shipping from Europe to North America missed a ship to bring us our product, we would have to wait until the next one set sail! Patience.. What's the matter with kids today! ;)

Definitely a bug, I think if there's any voice acting to be found in the DLC that's all been done for a long time.

To be honest I would rather that they fix that god awful memory leak that forces you to restart the game every hour or so instead of concentating on making DLC for the game. But hey it keeps the money flowing in right.

Just to recap the valid questions that have gotten lost:
NKKKK wrote...

And you couldn't have said this earlier why?
In reference to the delayed post by Chris stating that there a last minute issue.
Darth_Trethon wrote...

Yeah but WHEN did they pick up on
the issue? If they caught it right before submision for certification
then it's a couple of days at best whereas if they found out about the
issue yesterday....likely due to a failed certification then it will be
weeks. If they delayed submission for certification then they may have
not said anything earlier because they thought it may have been
possible for it to still come out a bit earlier and make the 5th. And
NO fixing a bug doesn't have to mean an entirely new build....all the
work they did is still in place.

XBL DID update the RtO
achievement yesterday and an italian site lists RtO as expected
tomorrow(the 6th) so I am thinking that the certification did not fail
and may have simply gone into certiffication even later than originally
expected.

wikkedjoker wrote...

So let me get this right. . . RTO
was moved back twice. And we are to believe that they can push out a 15
hour expansion, by 3/16/2010? When they couldn't push out a 1 hour DLC?
Why do I have my doubts. . . . hummmm?

Jennamarae wrote...

So can you be any more specific about
the problem that occurred hours before launch day? Isn't all the
testing and stuff supposed to be finished before then anyway?

Slayer697 wrote...
What I'd like to know is why the day has
passed this far and no real information has been revealed yet about the
status of this DLC apart from "not coming out today."

JabberJaww wrote...

Was this the same problem that caused the first Holiday Season delay??

Darth_Trethon wrote...

So how about that WHEN exactly did BioWare pick up on this last issue to fix? Before or after it went into certification?

jackygates wrote...

Chris can you give us the main reason on this DLC being delayed? I know theres a Issue but what kind of issue?

AndreaDraco wrote...

A question: it was David Gaider who
wrote this DLC, right? Since he's the lead writer, I hope that a thing
so sensitive as "Cailan's hidden political agenda" was written by
him.

Jennamarae wrote...

Can we expect better communication
and answers for our questions from this point forth? That's all most of
us have been asking for since before "this holiday season", and it
would be greatly appreciated if we had answers and not just a million
questions. Especially if this thread is to stay on topic henceforth.

Semyaza82 wrote...
Thankd Chris, and i get that you don't
want to give another date without knowing if you'll have to change it
again - but is there a ball park figure? I we talking next month, a few
days etc?

Sir Ulrich Von Lichenstien wrote...
any chance of
confirmation if there is 'party banter' or 'party cut scenes' in
ostagar that ALL of the party members (or at least the ones that were
there originally) are involved in?

Or is it a case of wait till get the game and see? [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/wizard.png[/smilie]
