People aka paying customers also would like details regarding why the product is delayed again at the last hour.

Instead we got "its delayed agaian see you later"

then 24 hours later we get the "there was a problem so we pulled it" well no kidding?

so when it was announced 24 hours ago that there was going to be a delay the team in charge of letting us know whats going on didnt know there was a "little problem"? or couldnt take the extra 5 seconds to say as such?

I dont mind the delay, delay it and fix it till your heart is content, the lack of information is whats troubling

Why is it so troubling?  They probably discovered a bug or something and need some time to fix it.  Sounds good to me, I was looking forward to today but whatever take your time and get it right Bioware.

Some of you people need to relax this is hardly a big deal who cares?  We will be enjoying the DLC sooner or later.

I didnt say the delay is troubling. I said the lack of communication is.

100 pages could have been saved and alot of tears, if instead of posting "delayed so sorry kkthxbye" that they just posted "delayed again, small bug discovered, sorry once again"

Whining about the delay isn't going to get it released any sooner so calling Bioware a bad company and ect is useless. Its disappointing that it was delayed but obviously it was a major problem that Bioware found and couldn't release it or else we would be calling for their head for releasing a faulty product.

While I will never discount the amount of rudeness i'm by now used to see every time there's a delay in the gaming market, If I may, I would say that, while no set in stone ETA is understandable, letting us know if the delay is a matter of hours, days, weeks or months would definitely help make many feel better.
I hope you understand that "there's a delay, there's no ETA, sorry" leaves people a tad wanting :D

There probably not sure how long its going to take to fix whatever bugs are in the dlc its better just to not give a release date until there 100% sure its ready.

So your long supportive fans really have to be treated like children when the bills are getting our of hand? We can't know the reason for the delay or is it just hard to find in all 170 pages! lol. Was it really b/c Bioware felt the DLC was too short? B/c $5=hour of gameplay would make me one happy gamer

I dunno, DragonAge1103. Based on the behaviour of many in this thread, treating our community like children would be easier, quicker, and less stressful to us. But we don't do that.

We like to treat our community like mature human beings capable of complex reasoning, civil discussion, and independent thought, no matter how they might appear otherwise when ranting and whinging and carrying on.

Chris Priestly has already given you some information, and some clarification. He has also mentioned there is no ETA on a release date or further information yet. The "reason for the delay" you keep harping on has already been given to you. No, it's nothing specific, but the specifics do not affect you. Whether it's bugs, scheduling, a mandate from higher up, a clumsy intern, my iced tea habit, or aliens, the product is still affected and we're dealing with it so that you can have the product you've been looking forward to.

Certain folks within the community believe that, unless we cater to your every whim and always do things you agree with, we are not being open and honest and that we are unprofessional, rude, or worse. If the community can disabuse itself of that belief, maybe we can have better and more informative discussions? And showing more patience than a child also helps if you don't want to be seen as one. I'm just saying, is all. ;)

What about us mature gamers who also run businesses and posted mature suggestions about wanting to see Bioware adhere to better business practices and implement better planning? We want you to be successful.
Instead, history is repeated with a second missed release date which I am sure no one at Bioware is happy about. Understood.
We realize that the DLC world is in a relative baby stage in the grander scheme of things, but this is not encouraging.
You are not the first company to not come through, nor the last.
The wanting it to be top quality for the customers message is rhetoric though. Of course you want it to be top quality. The real issue is readiness, and letting the tongue lead (twice), rather than the hands.
I hope it gets worked out, and I also hope that in the future the work is done well in advance of any announcements.
Bioware is way to good to make these mistakes, or should be.
You know the old saying: We miss one release date, shame on us, miss another, well....shame on us again???

A bug/problem appeared and caused the team to delay the release, no timeline for the DLC to be downloaded has been announced.

If, as BioWare employees, you are not going to actually discuss what caused the delay beyond "something went wrong" then this probably should've been a closed thread. What's the point in letting people whine about it here, when this thread should actually be about what the delay was and/or when it's being fixed.

I understand Chris's position as CM makes this a difficult situation to deal with, but no actual information has been provided here apart from a clear understanding that BioWare is aware of the community response to the delay. I hope it comes when it's ready (as per Blizzard's rather effective policy), but I think this thread in particular could've been handled better. No you don't owe us a reason, but if that's the case, don't give us one at all instead of telling us there was an issue with the release. That's already obvious by the delay. Telling us so makes the people reading this thread feel like you're treating them like children. They're asking for you to clarify what the problem was, not that there was a problem.

So I ask you to put yourself in our shoes. How would you react to the responses we've been given if you were in our shoes? Wouldn't you feel like you were being patronized or outright ignored? If you were vested in purchasing this product, I would hope that you are. Your fans are hurt because they care about you, and instead of trying to understand that they're rational people just like you, you've gone and treated them like second class citizens, lower than you because they desire something you have. I'm not saying this was your intention, but sometimes even the best of intentions are perceived as being wrong when seen from a different perspective.

In my honest opinion I would almost prefer not to know what the reason was. It seems like whatever it was, it's too embarrassing to actually post to your community, and quite frankly I rather like the image I currently have of BioWare as the best Canadian developer and also one of the best developers currently developing games. So I'd like to thank you for exercising caution with this thread, but I would appreciate if you didn't chastise your followers for not passively accepting whatever it is you tell them. They're not mindless, just as you're not.

I didn't proofread this, so hopefully it all makes sense.

You don't actually believe that, do you? No matter what Bioware says, people will complain. If they say there was a big uncovered, the next questions would be stuff like, "Where exactly is this bug?", or "Do you guys have a bunch of monkeys working there? A bug found on the LAST DAY?".

Then the armchair game developers would come out, talking about how Bioware is a poorly run company, and how they would do things better, etc. Perhaps this is already happening... No way I'm reading this entire thread!

No, I think Bioware is damned if they do, and damned if they don't.

OMG SO GOFFIK!!11!!1

With all the angst and whining, a little thread derailment seemed... Entertaining.

And now back to your scheduled DLC RAEG.

I'll post this again for good measure.

EDIT: [Image removed.]

well.....i deserve a killians or a damned medal for making it past the intro. managed a paragraph before including intro before i had to turn away......

for the record kids, hot topic is not goth, or punk, it's mainstream glam. and emo is an extreamlely watered down version of goth. be original, play golf, wear shorts, polos, get sunlight, laugh a little.

I made it to something about virility and and a thingie and then I quit.

And LOL hot topic. I used to be one of those "OMGZ SO SCENE" kids... Now every time I hear Hawt Tawpic blasting out it's "HARDCORE EMO RAWKKKK", I throw up a little. I wish DA:O shirts were sold elsewhere.

Anyyyyways....

BioWare is causing the Maker to come out of hiding and KILL KITTENS!

Stop this! Look at that face! How can you allow it to be hurt?!

Rage more, start a mob, force them to release RtO, save kittens. Otherwise, Alistair will cry, and we can't have that. He's already emotional enough over a certain GW. :(

bioware's not to blame. Ea is. given thier rep, it's a given that they are behind this foul-up.
