Why are people blaming Chris? He's the "Community Coordinator", you want a "DLC Developer". Chris has nothing to do with it not being done on time, well not unless he makes a habit of distracting the dev's or starting water-balloon fights in the server room or something, it's just his job to give news be it good or bad.

I dont know why others do it, but I use Chris as the Archdemon in my epic fantasy stories due to his reputation of being evil and the fact he puts a  devilPosted Image face at the end of his posts :P

Yes.

Then i stand corrected.

I'm not bothered by the delay, but rather by the fact that they went back in and covered their tracks by deleting the earlier news item posting the release date as January 5th and never bothered to post any news indicating a delay (except on the forums, here). Infuriating when a company tries to 1984 everyone and revise earlier information as it suits them. I understand you don't want to leave something around that gives the wrong release date, but post an addendum rather than throwing out the expansion news and hoping no one will notice the DLC delay. Smells like Blizzard.

hehehe 1984...

An accurate description, unfortunately.

The more reason it should have been released by now. Its not like its a different story of its own. You go back after the fortuitous annihilation of your order, whack some darkspawn wannabes, look for the armor of Cailan, talk to Dog and perhaps tickle him and tie to a post, that's it. Other than what have already been announced the RTO can't deviate to another part of the story that could potentialy ruin it.

What's the latest with the DLC RTO? Has anyone heard anything new? I noticed a new countdown timer at greywardens.com indicating it is being released tommorow....
PS.  Where's Del/Ashley?  I need some mellons to squeeze!  Posted Image

Grey Wardens is basing their countdown on the Italian announcement, but Bioware themselves haven't announced anything yet. I'm not going to hold my breath.

Oh god, if it is released 24 hours after the delay it will be the most amusing thing to happen since this thread got Teaganed at page 12. I don't dare hope though.

Pre-ordering or not pre-ordering doesn't hurt Bioware if the end result is still a purchase. It’s a completely hollow threat. Retailers purchase a certain amount of boxes prior to release from the distributor, in this case, EA. Pre-ordering just confirms a purchase with a retailer, not the developer or the distributor. Coming to a Bioware board and saying things like, "Because of x, I am not doing y", no matter how eloquent you are you end up looking like a ******, because no one cares. A specific retailer might; but Bioware and EA certainly don't.

Bioware aren't out to purposefully let down their fans. Bioware aren't out to create a bad product. Bioware don't have a business model that involves being money hungry Indian-givers, as some people here would make out. Bioware is a solid games company that, since 1995, should have proven to the majority that what they produce is worth your wait.

Having a tantrum and throwing idle, meaningless threats around doesn’t help, nor will it solve your frustration that half an hours worth of content was delayed.

Very true since its only 400 Microsoft points it might be about 10-20 mins of gameplay.

The best part is I want a true reason to this delay. As for the post before talking about when they were actually going to release it one of the forum admin guys stated that it wouldn't be until after christmas because they were waiting on the approval process from Sony....so why the last minute delay? If all they were waiting for was for it to pass Sony inspection then would this too be at Sony's fault? Or are they gonna come up with some lame lie and state they never said that blah blah blah. Or perhaps they were lying in the first place blaming Sony for the initial late release? Stuff just is really starting to look shady now. If anything at least be honest and don't make up some bs after bs crap just to shift blame.

What's funny is that the greywarden article mentions the nonsense that occured as everyone got Bann Teaganed on the RTO is delayed thread.   I cracked up when I read that.   That wasn't the HALF of what went down last night.   A good time was had by all.

The owl even got some mellons in a tent.  Ahhhhhh.  Posted Image

Now if I could just get the DLC!!!!

Hmm. Well oviously I'm slightly disappointed not to get my fix tonight, but things happen.

I am still looking forward to RTO and I've been hoarding points to buy it, often bypassing other dlc while I wait.

So today I got one bit of bad news (no RTO) and one bit of exciting news (Awakenings). While I'd prefer not to live with that things could be worse.

Thanks for the heads up guys, disappointing as it is.

Oh, and for the age question 42, stay at home father of three lovely little girls.

Hi Chris!

Just to get back on topic: do you have any ETA for RtO?

Not yet. Since many people have (rightly imo) called us out for promising 2 release dates and missing them we are going to make sure of the date before we issue it again. As soon as we are sure, we will let you know, but I havew no eta of when this will be.

Amusing? I'd call it a senseless prank but not amusing. I mean there's no reason not to announce the delay is expected to be a short one.....day or two at most. It would have prevented a lot of anger. Time for me to go to sleep......tomorrow maybe.
