BioWare Delays Dragon Age: Origins DLC
We don't know why, either.
by Jim Reilly
US, January 4, 2010 - Dragon Age: Origins fans will be waiting a little longer for the next add-on of BioWare's fantasy RPG.
Planned for release tomorrow in North America and Europe for Xbox 360 and PC, the Return to Ostagar downloadable content is now being put on hold with no explanation given.
"We're sorry but the planned Return to Ostagar downloadable content scheduled to launch on January 5th has been delayed for all platforms," said Community Manager Chris Priestly on the official forums. "We will update you as new information becomes available."
The PlayStation 3 version was planned for release "later" in the month, BioWare announced last week. Given that the content has been delayed on "all platforms," this may mean Return to Ostagar won't see a release until late January at the earliest.
We've contacted BioWare for any additional info and will update this post as soon as we hear back.

If the IGN page is to be believed Dr. Ray Muzyka took time to speak to them and give them screenshots of the expansion, rather than posting something here or on the official DAO page *golfclap* then at the very end of the working day (their time) Priestly states that RtO is delayed.
Coincidence? Maybe... but as previously mentioned, considering the mess up they made with giving out information about the 'Save transfers' for ME to ME2 over the Christmas period, this to me is another nail in the coffin of the supposed 'love of the fans' bioware claims they have.
If they really cared about the fans, Priestly shouldn't have posted this topic until he could give a valid reason as to why it has been delayed. He should've realised that posting what he did would cause a lot of people to get pissed off.

The beginning of this thread must have being a highlight for Chris Priestly
Imagine Evil Chris with his 'grenade' approaching a forum filled with expectant people?
Imagine the feeling he must have been having?
Kind of like Rambo VS Pigmies, that's not going to end well. Not much of a challenge, but satisfies the blood lust momentarily.
For some reason he fled from the ensuing carnage...in fact all the devs fled the explosion

It is laughable, all this outrage for DLC that will surely disapoint you all anyhow. 2 more hours of point click kill, mindless madness. How this game won any awards at the VGA is beyond me. It was lame at the start and so far it is living up to ending the same way. I can't believe this is a product of the same company that brought us MassEffect. I think I will reinstall my FO3, now that is a RPG...Bethesda has it right.
lol oh yes, i ever do so love fallout 3, what with it's bugs, broken scripts, constant crashing, non charecter depth, run, click, shoot, non working rushed DLC's, from a company that flips off it's customers and lets THEM fix THEIR broken game for them with fan made patches.
it truely did deserve the awards in 2008, truely~!
They did repair their own game, they didn't just leave it up to the players on the PC to mod their fixes. When the Problem with the PITT happened they instantly took it down repaired it, and re-released it. That type of game isn't supposed to have character depth it's the surrounding story that's to take you in and make you part of it. The character background is to be your own, oh wait...forgot how can it be fantasy if someone didn't roll dice to get their character's stats and background info. You are just as bad as Ezekeal, please don't deminish the look of other DA:O players with your witless retorts.
EDIT: Random code?? WTH is that crap in my post????\\\\
Hey now! Dice ARE RPGs. no dice no rpg. ::shakes fist:: I take dice with me everywhere. I roll to see if I miss the urinal or if I decide to eat the mint. Yes, we the hardcore RPGers know there is no role without a roll.
Huzzah!

I am a person who is patient normally, while yes I was disappointed with the FIRST delay I didnt blame them all that much, this however is rather poor PR and service. #1 not explaining why, and #2 failing on yet another deadline. Sorry but if this was in my job I would have been fired for failing to meet a deadline three times.
Folks want to be informed whether we like the news or not. The whole debacle with the RtO thread before is proof that Bio isnt too keen on sharing what is going on, and it makes me wonder if we have another month for RtO to wait with no word whatsoever. Really makes me want to shelf the game for a year at least.

Don't forget that only a day or two ago, another BioWare member posted effectively confirming RtO for today (i.e. 5th Jan), and told us we'd enjoy it.

You
Your = Possessive
You're = Contraction for YOU ARE
They
Their = Possessive
They're = Contraction for THEY ARE
I swear, every time I see one of those used improperly it makes my eyes bleed. It takes forever for my eyes to stop bleeding. I don't like bleeding eyes. I make students write sentences using those words when they turn in papers using those words incorrectly, then I make them redo their paper without telling them where the problem grammatical errors reside.
Rinse and repeat.
Seriously, how hard is it to learn the rules? GAH!
P.S. Ain't ain't a damn werd in our edjikashun sistim.
P.P.S. Boo delayed DLC! (On topic see?)

Wow, late January. How the hell is an hour long DLC giving them so much trouble.
I don't know about you, but when this thread went up I got a massive boost to my confidence levels when it comes to Bioware DLC.
