One must love the professionalism aspect of all this.

"We are shipping tomorrow!"

"We are delayed, and I don't know why!"

Also that we have been whining that the dev's don't communicate and when they did "we are releasing it tomorrow" the next day they go "oh, we aren't releasing it...and i don't know why".

Ah, the sheer smell of professionalism.

Delay > Releasing buggy content

People here act as if they're doing it on purpose just to spite players of the game, every game has bugs and at least they'd rather fix things so everyone can enjoy the experience of the new DLC, rather than 5000 whine threads "Omg this DLC sucks I will never buy Bioware stuff again"

It's bad business to miss your own deadlines.  There is no excuse.  Resources could have been allocated to make this happen today, period.  This is outright lack of effort, and ridiculous.  Do you honestly think that with the sum of BioWare's staff, this project could not be completed in an afternoon?  It absolutely could have, if they pulled a few people off of other projects.  It's not like there's ONE GUY at BioWare who knows how to create a DLC.  Amateurs are doing it with the DAO Toolkit.  These are professional developers?  No, I don't accept that excuse again.  It was thrown around in the old forum also and it's just not going to fly.  Somebody in that office lacks ass kicking shoes.  Therefore, the inmates are running the asylum.

Not exactly, it could have been a problem when patching it into the actual game it may have wiped something it shouldn't have, maybe clicking on a random thing for a quest made the game crash, or made a graphical glitch, even memory leaks etc, things like this aren't planned or expected. The amount of games which have bugs like this which aren't caught during Q&A isn't shocking, some even make it to release of the content only for people to point them out afterwards and then have to wait days/weeks for the developers to find what causes it and then fix it. It isn't just a simple task.

I'd rather them fully fix the content, rather than have something that's unplayable on my system waiting for them to make a patch for it.

Thank you.  Elequent post.  And probably spot on.

Lets also remember    that this isn't the first delay of  this particular DLC.  it's the *Second*.  And even  if we are to simply accept the fact that the delay was because of   "really   complicated bugs for a large seasoned staff staff to fix in 2 weeks" (lol)  that still doesn't explain why not  a single person from  EA has shown   up on this thread to SAY SO

We are owed an explanation.  It's *our* money they're trying to get....

I found a way to deal with the delay and lack of information.

I'm just gonna pretend that Squenix is running Bioware, and I won't see the DLC until sometime next year.

It's how I survived all the FFXIII delays!

Im alittle annoyed I went and got Microsoft points for this, had the day off work, snowed in and was ready to settle down and play this for a day. Not a happy bunny. A reason would be nice.

Like an idiot noob, i already bought my BioWare points thinking:  "There's no way they'll do it again."  So they aren't trying to get my money, like some moron, I already gave it to them in good faith.

This is BS, they announced that it will be out during the holiday (which would have been a PERFECT time to play) and no, and now they delay it again.

WTH, is the issue with Sony? cuz they can kiss my ****! Screw then, release the content already!

I think people should cool down a bit. I think Bioware is awsome with what they have done with Dragon Age. I especially re-bought a months subscription for xbox live just to get the new DLC and yeah i'm naffed off but so-what! I too kept getting "cannot connect to servers". I'm sure they are sorting things out and will get back to us when its all good!

Bioware´s awesome indeed.....

The expansion will be very expensive. 39 Bugs for at least 15 hours of playing time.

To consider this with the normal playing time of Dragon Age Origins ( 50 - 100 hours )

this is not enough playing time for this price....imho

Well I really do hope they don't release a buggy version. I mean we would be waiting for a patch until summer.

Eh, I don't even care about the DLC anymore...I just want them to make a patch to fix that damn memory leak already. I can't play the game for half an hour before that loading wheel starts rotating in 24 hour cycles too...

And most Bioware folk are still in bed. Its only just gone noon here in the Uk, so that makes it what....around 4am Edmonton?

jesus guys, sure a statement will come when they are actually up and awake, you knw, they do need to sleep as well....as for that, Torias (mod) said it would be later today most likely as there isnt anyone in the office in all probability.

I would like an explanation too...but at least they told us the day before it would not be here, now we just need to wait till they hit the office to tlel us whats happening.

Yes an explanation would be great, but seriously don't expect it in the middle of the night.

That is true, but Chris posted this at 3pm yesterday their time, which means considering how the topic took off, someone official could have posted before they closed for the evening to give a reason.

Tie into that the way they have 'officially' confirmed the expansion, it really shows they don't care about their fans as much as they claim to

I made a comment weeks ago that I bet that "Ostagar" wouldnt be ready till late January or even February... and look my prediction is coming true. I bet that it was ready a while ago, but after receiving so many complaints over quick 1 hour meaningless DLC, that they added another layer to it and therefore the delay. Im not surprised at all...

Once again I am reitterating... many people are not complaining about the delay soley but rather that we have no REASON WHY it was delayed yet again.

if you think about it though, the announcement was put out at 3PM U.S. time so about midnight in the UK.
they are 7 hours behind us which means that now it is about 6AM.
im guessing we haven't heard anything because there isn't anyone there to tell us stuff, and if it is a problem then they will probably only start fixing it in a few hours when they get to work.

also probably why the web hasn't been updated

Alright.  lets put this  "they're still in bed!"  nonsense to rest already.

I've been a member of the Bioware forums for about  9 years.  In that time I've seen Developers like Chris Priestly and Stanley Woo come online and post  in the middle of the night Edmonton time.  I've seen them  come  online on weekends, holidays, early morning, late at night.    In fact, they frequently do so.

So no, I can assure you that  this particular excuse is  rubbish.

Not that it matters.  This  crap is  EA's doing.  And blood-sucking vampires don't sleep.

My boyfriend actually stopped playing b/c of that loading issue. He was all "Oh.. that loading screen is taking FOREVER, it must be your PC!" .. then I explained that if I reboot my PC, I get realistic load times again.. for a little while.. then it turns into a snail again. I also have an issue where things will sometimes take up to 10 minutes to be lootable.

Still though, for all its flaws, I love DA:O.. but yes, I might be happier with a patch for the bugs than I would be to get RtO, to be honest.

Bioware doesn't work for us. We're customers not employers.

It's true, we - as customers - play an important part, but that's about it.

Angering customers (which I think they didn't with this delay - who wants to play bugged content? Actually, the problem could be even worse with RtO not working at all or even ruining savegames) and therefore bringing less of us to actually buy RtO is their right and risk.

But no whatsoever "nerdrage" will make them release RtO all of a sudden, saying something like "ok, you've won, how could we dare to anger you... it was done all the time, we just didn't feel like releasing it. Thanks for changing our mind!". That wouldn't make any sense, would it?

You seem to be mistaking reason with excuse. There could be many reasons why RtO was delayed again, some may excuse it, some may not. The fact is there are often unforeseen circumstances which prevent things from going according to plan, particularly in software development.
I bought my Bioware points for this five weeks ago, I've been checking the website and forums every day since. I am dissapointed. How do I cope? By keeping some sodding perspective. When it boils down to it this is just a small expansion for an optional luxury item.

Why would Sony be the reason RtO is delayed? Anyone should understand that this is not a typical console game, it is meant to be played on a PC. Therefore, it would not be wise to hold back content for the PC platform even though console gamers may have to wait a little longer...

No, that's BS, there's no reason to cool down a bit. This is the second time it's been delayed and some people even took off from work in hopes of having a relaxing day enjoying the new DLC.

If you announce a release date, effin stick to it!
