I would second that. At least, I've seen quite a few games get delayed because it didn't meet EA's expectations somehow.

To those saying that Bioware are closed I have a couple of points.

First, If they cannot have people availibleto deal with other timezones, then maybe they should restrict their operations to the North American market.

Second, given there has clearly been an almighy ****-up then the companies management should have stayed at their desks long enough to provide clear information on what is going on. Management get paid more, and it times like this they need to show why.

I made a comment weeks ago that I bet that "Ostagar" wouldnt be ready till late January or even February... and look my prediction is coming true. I bet that it was ready a while ago, but after receiving so many complaints over quick 1 hour meaningless DLC, that they added another layer to it and therefore the delay. Im not surprised at all...

then i command you to stop predicting unless its a good prediction >:\\

if you think about it though, the announcement was put out at 3PM U.S. time so about midnight in the UK.
they are 7 hours behind us which means that now it is about 6AM.
im guessing we haven't heard anything because there isn't anyone there to tell us stuff, and if it is a problem then they will probably only start fixing it in a few hours when they get to work.

also probably why the web hasn't been updated

Alright.  lets put this  "they're still in bed!"  nonsense to rest already.

I've been a member of the Bioware forums for about http://forums.biowar...le.html?u=1879] 9 years [/url].  In that time I've seen Developers like Chris Priestly and Stanley Woo come online and post  in the middle of the night Edmonton time.  I've seen them  come  online on weekends, holidays, early morning, late at night.    In fact, they frequently do so.

So no, I can assure you that  this particular excuse is  rubbish.

Not that it matters.  This  crap is  EA's doing.  And blood-sucking vampires don't sleep.

im new to this so don't really know, thanks for putting that right,
so im annoyed that they haven't given us any info but im guessing the people who actually fix things aren't going to be in during the night though

Where did they 'officially' confirm the expansion? I have seen nothing except snips of info on gamin sites...hardly official...

As for sites offering pre-order...as I told someone else, you can pre order Diablo III, means nothing to me.

If I have missed an official post, then please direct me to it :)

*And dont direct me to Torias' sticky thread...even says...no official annoucement from Bioware.....Torias is a Mod, nothing more, not even a Bioware employee*

Why all the hate? I would like to point out that it is currently 6am there. Also nowhere did it say the content will be out at midnight est or whatever. Many MMO’s don’t put out the new patch with new content till sometime in the morning. Let’s all wait till the offices are open before fore we throw a ****storm. As long as the DLC is out sometime today they haven’t done a thing wrong and are not late.

You know, I realize it would be nice to get a post about what is going on however some things should be considered...

The folks ultimately responsible for a good product (Bioware) could be running around furiously from meeting to meeting and phone call to phone call to find out what the hell happened last minute. During this time it is like a swarm of ants pouring out of an anthill someone just pissed on.

Posting the why when they don't have a confirmed why nor a release time would be folly because people would complain if that was erroneous as well.

Will as many parties involved as there are, it could be any number of things. These other parties are also scrambling to find out WTF happened and their anthill is in a tizzy. Communication starts breaking down as everyone starts trying to cover their ass and find someone else to blame.

If the problem comes down to a hardware issue (DLC content needs to be sent from somewhere) then you could be looking at hours if not days waiting for a ticket to be created and having yet another company come in to check the hardware, run the diagnostics, replace parts, or order parts (another delay), and then check to see if the cord got kicked out. Software problems are actually easier in some ways. Data centers aren't fun when problems come up.

This is one of many scenarios. Yet another is they enjoy reading these posts while using their benjamins to roll up phattys and eat cheetos and chugging mountain dew.

Those whacky Canadians!

Somehow, I don't think that Chris meant "Sorry, the DLC has been delayed... later today"

It is not officially confirmed yet, BUT, there is a blank page here:
http://dragonage.bioware.com/awakening

which will hopefully have content really soon now.

Since we have two of the big game news websites, one big game retailer and the bioware webpage all agreeing that there is SOMETHING called "awakening", I finally made a sticky thread here:
http://social.biowar.../index/546072/1

"do you want a dlc that's on time but buged as hell or one delayed but works great?"

Since I have already bought the points, I want either the DLC I have paid for, or a dammed good explanation as why it was delibered as promised.

Absent either I will assume incompetence.

Again? Seriously?

I'll speak only for myself, but I'm sure others agree as well, I'm not angry for the delay but for the lack of proper communication!

I'm still playing the game, I still adore BioWare, I'll still buy the DLC, and I can certainly live without RtO, but since I'm invested into the game and consider myself an hard-core fan, I simply want someone to explain why it has been delayed again, when we can expect it and so on.

I've just read from an italian site that the DLC will be out tomorrow, with only one day of delay. Dunno if it's true though.

When are we expecting this game? If all chris said is "delayed" it must be later today. They wouldn't go "Oh **** we're so behind, we're gonna have to postpone it for a week" and not specify it other than "delayed".

Lol thanks Torias....posted while I was updating mine hehe...I seen your thread already...but as you say, until its 'official'...it aint 'official' if you follow my train of thought lol.

Interesting though the hate/anger/hype....I appreciate that DA was in all probability finished many many months ago (damn consoles pushing it back) and that work on 'future' dlc/exp has been long in the development, but look at RtO...if people really think it might be out and might actually exist at this moment they are a little optomistic.

Not saying I am not, looks and sounds great....but its all over the gaming sites before Bioware even say its coming...not right and Ill not get 'too' excited just yet hehe :)

jesus bioware

this is becoming really annoying and doesn't really live up to the expectations that if people are willing to pay a premium price for small amounts of content that they should be able to expect it on a semi-regular basis and not feel like they are being dicked around. Like some of the other posters I too almost bought my points ahead of time and now you delay it the day beforehand without any explanation?

lame.

I figured when you guys gave the release date a few days ago that it was all set and ready to go and you had moved on to the next project instead of this scenario where you obviously were talking out of your ass or are just too hung up on yourself as a company to shoot everyone straight.

Its all that much more annoying by the presentation of your site and frequency that it is updated with positive info about how "dragon age bestest game ever! A 15 out of 10 rating" - some site 4 hours ago you have never heard of. Yet when its a piece of info that might not fit into the notion that DA:O project isn't quite perfect then its pretty much the sound of crickets.

I agree that it's probably EA's doing. It's just like the Sims 3 release of last year where just days before it was due to be released, "SURPRISE! You can pick it up later and by later we mean like 4-6 months later" It's all fishy to me..
