I gotta admit it was pretty good not great though but it was pretty good. Anyways I didn't like it at first cause I wanted a new squademate and ending but on the basis of it by itself it was pretty good. I don't think it was any less polished then overlord I haven't had those problems everyone else has on omega. But I was hoping for more and the price was very steep for it. Who agrees

Now that I know aria changes based on your choices, I'm actually excited to play it again.

I'm looking forward to playing it again as a Renegade, but I will wait for a patch.

Omega felt half-done and sort of broken to me, and I was constantly pulled out of the experience by awkward glitches.

In the end, Aria got Omega back and I got some War Assets. And Aria is back on the Citadel. Nothing has changed.
Yeah, considering how much I payed for Omega, I fell like I got very little out of it.

At least you can admit the ending was clouding your judgement heavily. Most people will never admit it.

When Leviathan was released, people also were criticizing it heavily because "it didn't change the ending, that's what I want". Only now it's being proprly recognized as one of the best DLCs. Omega may not be perfect, the lack of post-story hub is its main flaw, but it's still really good with a lot to offer and replayability thanks to how we can influence Aria. Not to mention it got something extra just for the Engineer class.

It's fine as a standalone story but has nothing to do with the grand scheme of things and doesn't make any sense within the broader story.

If you just wanted to do some shoosting and/or are enthralled by that blue Ice Queen, and if you don't mind generous servings of cheese, this expansion is for you.

Shep is helping Aria in exchange for resources for Omega's resources for the war. How does it NOT make sense in the context of ME3 story lol? No to mention the pure Paragon POV of liberating Omega from Cerberus occupation

I played it twice as well.
It was not that great especially the second time around. Because you don't even have that anticipation anymore, all you see are the graphic glitches and stupid crap like that...

My feedback:

1. Nyreen would have been a great permanent squadmate if she was in the game in the first place.
2. I thought we will fight dragoons? and get the collector assault rifle?
3. Adjutants are ridiculously easy to kill on insanity, is that just me? or is there like some bug...
4. Thought Talons are all Turian?
5. Why the hell is Oleg a freaking alien on the war assets chart lol
6. Nyreen just went poof. literally. sad.
7. Why's Aria on the citadel still after omega...
8. the way talons salute (raising their gun thingy) looked stupid...
9. Couch side quest, awesome lol
10. cameos I wished I would see: amateur merc you may have saved, batarian you may have saved, patriarch, garvorn

it was overpriced, it was not up to my expectations, still bought it, still enjoyed playing it. what can I say? I love mass effect...

I criticized it because for being an asspull. And yes, having found the creators of the Catalyst, you'd think it would change something.

People have different priorities. For me, it's solid story and role-playing over all. The gameplay, visual appeal, cut-scenes and all might be great, but that's not what I'm looking for.

I'd put a game like NWN2 before both ME2 and 3. Even though there's no shooting, or cinematic coreography and other "cool stuff".

So it's not bad, but it's also not by far what I have come to expect from Bioware over the last decade. It's my own damn fault.

1. You're leaving your ship and crew behind.
2. You are fighting a war for Aria while imminent extinction looms.
3. The resources gathered make no difference whatsoever.

The second time I played Omega I realised how fantastic it was. I didn't realise that the ending differed so much. The changes were great. Changing personality of Aria. Petrovsky's fate. Who kills him, if he is killed?
The differences in her final speech, depending on whether you went mostly paragon, or renegade, were great:
Paragon: 'We ARE Omega!'
Renegade: 'Don't f*** with Omega!'

Sion you are hurtin Cerberus and getting resources which does help (if we saw something other then the war asset thing it would show more) and it helps unite and organize the terminus systems so yeah there was a good reason for it.

Everyone knows it's difficult to enjoy the little DLC stories when you know how it all ends.

Even more so if you hate how it ends.

Even more so if the new content itself is mediocre.

Things stack up...

Nice thread, OP. I played Omega a second time as well and it was a better experience over all. The gameplay was fun as were the levels. The fetch quests were good in that they required exploration. The eezo refinery was beautiful. And Shep's dialogue was good when we had a choice. That said, the story was still lacking a bit, Nyreen's death was too sudden and anti-climatic. The glitches, while not game breaking, really did interfere w/ some key moments. And Shep was on auto-pilot too much for my tastes. For that, I still stand by my 7/10 rating.

Yeah, I didn't even mention the immersion-breaking bugs in my first post. Good point.

I saw only a few glitches(Maybe Omega is better on PS3.)

1. Nyreen is little more than a female Garrus with biotics. She'd amount to little on the Normandy and has good story on Omega.
2. Maybe a glitch prevented them from spawning and you just didn't look at the right place.
3. The Adjutants weren't even that bad in Invasion. Only thing that made them indimidating is that they could convert you into one of them.
4. Nyreen probably started recruiting anybody who offered when she took over.
5. Glitch perhaps?
6. Self sacrifice to save others was heroic. And a clever trick using a biotic field and an assault trooper's grenades.
7. Buisness? The Blue Suns, Blood Pack, and Eclipse are still there and she has to manage/recruit them.
8. Subjective
9. Of course.
10. The mad prophet and Harrot were pretty good cameos.

You should see the DLC for Fallout. $20 each and smaller size wise than ME's DLC.
You guys have expectations that are absurdly high.
But you at least have the good sense to admit when something is still enjoyable, instead of using the smallest problem to claim that the whole thing is worse than that Dead or Alive movie.

Wait, how is Nyreen anything like Garrus? Garrus is a total Renegade... he keeps talking about the "ruthless calculus" and how sometimes you have to sacrifice some people to save others... whereas Nyreen is all about protecting civilians at all cost. They're really not much alike, except for their vigilante tendencies.

But yeah, the couch sidequest was one of my favorite parts.

I have played omega twice as well. Enjoyed both playthroughs. Fun story, still couldn't believe how Aria changed if you go full paragon. It was hilarious for me to see her reaction when she spares Petro only for my Shep to kill him! Lol. On on a side not it seems bray has a batarian bromance with Shep since he sends you an e-mail later during me 3 playthrough.

Bray could of been a cool batarian squadmate.
