Anybody own a Wii U and/or play ME3 MP on it? I'm curious as to whether or not the control setup would be beneficial or just a pain the ass to use vs. a normal PC or Console controller setup. Looks cool, just not sure if it'd be very fluid and ergnomic to use. :P

There are some differences between WiiU and other platforms. I tested ME3 on the WiiU a while back and here are some of the things I remember (might have changed between then and release though).

Off the top of my head:

- Button layout have been changed to better fit WiiU's button scheme. Nintendo followed the traditional SNES layout for X,Y,A,B (or NDS for those who haven't played on the SNES before). Also the control stick is above the 4 buttons instead of below like on the Xbox360 and PS3. (A) is still to run (B) is still melee, the button locations are just swapped.

- The WiiU gamepad has a mic which can be used for in-game voice chatting. The screen on the gamepad displays player score.

- Promo weapons are Ultra Rares instead.

- N7HQ website has been updated to include WiiU players.

WHAT!? Why!? We (XBox, PS3, PC) MUST play the events to get the promo weapons and the people on the WiiU get them in SPs and PSPs?

The way I see it, doing a weekend operation will FOR SURE get you one of the promo weapons. Playing on the WiiU, you'd have to get A LOT of credits to have a CHANCE to get the same weapons.

I guess it doesn't seem fair for veteran players who has proper builds that can be used to be successfully extract in most matches and earning a lot of credits. These verteran players would be able to get these weapons faster than waiting for and doing weekend challenges if the promo weapons were UR. It seems to me though that new, casual or less hardcore ME3 PC, PS3 and Xbox360 players can get promo weapons easier than a new ME3 WiiU player.

For some reason I get the feeling that only cheaters will feel strongly against this. Since they can exploit glitches to easily earn credits to buy the packs that unlocks the weapons quickly. But that's just me though, and my mind has become tainted from wielding the banhammer for some time.

I realize now that mentioning this is a slippery slope that I should originally have thought twice about mentioning. I originally intended to simply shed some light on WiiU's ME3, since I worked on it, I feel proud of it. I didn't anticipate how you guys would react.

To those who understand that some things are just diffferent no matter how hard you try to make them the same, thank you for understanding.

That aside, I'm actually insulted by the fact only cheaters are assumed to be against this change. I have all 22 N7 weapon rewards, but the problem with that is my Eagle VII, Crusader IX, and Valkyrie I are essentially 17 wasted rewards for me. I do not and will not ever use them. On the other hand, the weapons I really like, the Hurricane and Valiant, I only have at IV and I. So I would love a chance to be able to get more of the weapons I want and less of those paperweights. That doesn't make me a cheater.

To be clear, I said "For some reason I get the feeling that only cheaters will feel strongly against this", I also stated that I wield the banhammer, so I generally investigate cheaters, which makes me have an affinity to think of things from a cheater's perspective.

I certainly did not assume only cheaters are against this, I merely pointed out my opinion that cheaters are the ones likely to be against it.

The whole reason I bought a Wii U was to be able to play ME3 on the controller, without tying up the TV. It works great for that.

Ernest, do you still play on Wii U? Do you know if anyone at BioWare does?

Sorry dude, I haven't got my hands on a retail WiiU.
