Oh, and if any Wii U players sees this, what was the default quicksearch???? I heard it was Unknown/Unknown/Platinum... Well, I want more confirmation... for science... New players on the other platforms is Unknown/Collectors/Platinum, with all the DLC, I believe. Well, that was what my new account had.

Guys, you really want to dilute precious UR pool with Eagle? Common, seriously, I would be pissed if I rolled another Eagle instead of, I don't know, my Typhoon III or Harrier II.
I guess it's easy to forget how it was before maxed manifest. Must be pretty good feeling.
This may come as a shock to you, but the Eagle is not so universally reviled as you think it is. A lot of people are bent out of shape when they get IT instead of their preferred weapon. It's a fun gun to use, if you give it a try.
Yet you don't like the Hurricane or Valiant...

Why are people whining?
Blops 2 is hardly going to be brimming online with cod fans, how many people are going to be playing online for me3? Guess it might be easier to fill 4 spots per lobby instead of 8 to 16 players.
Either way no one should actually care. We got a headstart, countless operations & not faced with the embarrassment of paying for the pissU console with the 4hr average battery life of the controller which can't be connected to the console to charge but straight into the wall socket.
I'm hoping smartlglass feature is active with X360, cheaper alternative to the pissU.
I don't think this is whining, this is closer to outrage.
Well its your fault for buying the pissU
Online is going to suck, full of rubbish players who should go back to mario land, plus the lack of total online players & no weekly operations for a while, if never. A poor alternative to ME3 multiplayer basically so quite frankly let them have what they want and if your annoyed, go join them.
Wow, way to not read the thread before posting... I am a PC player upset that a Bioware employee accused people whom question their decisions of being cheaters.
Except they didn't, so... why are you narked again?

Behold my awesome Wii U manifest. It's rough getting XP and credits when everyone's equipment sucks and you can barely extract from Bronze. I feel like I'm months away from being able to afford a PSP with that chance at a promo weapon.
Haha thanks for sharing. I was curious to see a Wii U profile too.
Yeah, thanks for posting. The top guy on the N7 leaderboard has only played MP for 50 hours with a nice 16min/game average. (I'm betting a convert from a different platform.) The WiiUsers have got a long way to go, but most of us can probably agree that they'll have a blast despite the Eagles they will acquire on the way. The Eagle isn't even that bad now.

Okay, so you inadvertently opened a can of worms mentioning the promos. Then you shoot yourself in the foot by making an insulting overarching generalization. Then you reload and line up another shot on your own foot by saying, "no, no, I really didn't mean you are all cheaters, I just said I feel like you are all probably cheaters".
Ernest, friendly advice: just apologize and stop digging. Be the better man and just give the humble apology and walk away. You already carry the big stick of the ban, be smart and start speaking softly.

That aside, I'm actually insulted by the fact only cheaters are assumed to be against this change. On the other hand, the weapons I really like, the Hurricane and Valiant, I only have at IV and I. So I would love a chance to be able to get more of the weapons I want and less of those paperweights. That doesn't make me a cheater.

People here are not looking for the finer details.
Try explaining the BSN community - and especially those non-promoting "N7 rank means nothing" advocates, that the N7 rank can work as one potential indicator estimating the successful outcome of the lobby you just find yourself in. Many will insist that N7 rank means nothing, because they happened to play with one guy with an N7 rank of 6000 that sucked big time.
Or try suggesting that a minimum N7 rank requirement for PUBLIC Platinum lobbies would help the vast majority of serious players looking for a group of decent randoms to play together with. Right now the lobbies are infested with <120 rankers, thinking that making it to Wave 3 would actually be an accomplishment.
But those few people refusing to even promote to a low number like N7 500 are shouting as if their lives were threatened and in the end as a serious player you have to hop through 10 random lobbies until you find a decent group with a reasonable character / weapon combination and good equipment.
You have a significantly higher chance of finding a good team, with people knowing what they are doing and using equipment, in Silver lobbies right now. Those unexperienced and underequipped newbies ruin the Gold and Platinum game experience for the rest of us.

So lets do a little math shalt we?
I'm currently 30 promotional weapons away from MAXING out the promo weapons, (at this time of post)
So it will be another 30 weeks. (max) before I can max them out.
Now lets do some time
30 weeks x 7 days = 210 days. ... wow thats a while before I max my URs out lets see how many hours those are.
210 x 24(h) per day = 5040 hours. Dayum thats a long time to wait before I'm maxed out.
I maxed out My manifest ~ 650ish hours or LESS. This is with the "packs bug" WIPED MY ENTIRE MANIFEST and I rebuilt it back up from scratch. (no URs were given out) ALSO including the time there was basically nothing to get but URs. I say on a solid path, a person can max out my non promo manifest in ~580 hours. (actually would be ~500, but tossing 80 hours just point out how AWESOME this is....)
Now lets add some "realisticness" to this math. Lets say a person with Wii U has a job, and sleeps like an average person.
8h workday
7h sleep
1.5h random activities.
Plays only 5 days a week.
8+7+1.5=16.5 hours (24-16.5=7.5hs of "freeness")
So this person has 7.5 hours to play ME3MP. Hmm lets average that to 6.5 add another hour for randomness.
So 6.5(h)x5days= 32.5 hours a week.
580/32.5(w)=17.84 Weeks. ~18 weeks for this person to max out their manifest.
Now I have 30 weeks from right now, before I can max out my promos, if WiiU (I don't know release date) came out today and someone started playing ME3MP today, they would have 12 weeks to max out 50 URs with this current play time.
Now for the mindbuster.
50URs at a ~8% chance in PSPs (I'm sure its higher)
50/8= 6.25 x 100= 625 packs to max out promo weapons. 625x99000(PSPs)=61875000 total credits)
(100x99000=9.9m for 8 (true) URs) (50/8= 6.25x9.9m=61875000 total credits.)
lets average that to 62m for max promos after maxing manifest.
62m/140k (platinum average, even with bonus extraction averages 140K)= 442.8 games of platinum. Going to simplify that to 443.
(I played mostly gold to max mine, had I played platinum, would have been faster for sure.) Now with a maxed manifest your packing serious UR firepower, so please no argument about completing platinum games.
Lets see, an average platinum game is ~26 minute dippin to 18min 34max.(18+34=52/2=26)
443x26=11518 minutes / 60= 191.9(h)s simpled to 192 hours.
192/32.5 (for WiiUs player)= 5.9 weeks simpled to 6 weeks for them to max out promos after maxing out main manifest.
12 -6 weeks =
tl;dr
6 weeks.... so people playing wiiU will max out their promos 6 weeks before I will..
Thats some serious loyalty right there. Heck I best go buy a WiiU and just max out my manifest sooner than what i've done since MARCH... keep up the great work bioware, spending a simple 5 minutes should have told you this. Oh and did I mention I was grinding minimum 9 hours per day since the game came out until about 3 months ago? Add that in with the math....wtf.

You sherry-swilling, armani-wearing elitist! How can you not be satisfied with what you got and cannot concede other people not having to go through grinding. We are a loving community fgs, we should embrace the fact that we went through grinding and still have to wait while others can grind and get it all!
I'm totally with you on this Ronnie, this is just a rip-off. And that must make me a cheater since I want to max out my promos after maxing everything else... maybe I should report myself.
At least the 6 WiiU-players will have fun with their maxed hurricanes...

Yes, obviously every person who will buy Wii now and starts ME3 will have their manifest maxed before you.
So, to be clear, you expect BW to act to please people like you, who:
1) have maxed manifest
2) were grinding 9 hours a day?
And maybe they should expect no less from those brand new WiiU players, to just start, join their extremely big community, help themself with some cash to boost initial manifest and start grinding gold platinum for 9 hours a day? With average platinum play of 20 minutes? Oh yeah, their community is infinitely smaller, as of now they do not have any weekend challenges (and it is unknown whether they will have and when they will have it), they don't have microtransactiong and I bet we will have to wait a bit for the first platinum solo from Wii-users.
Yeah, I think you just proved in your post that when no decision can be made to satisfy all people, it definitely shouldn't be made to satisfy those upper 2%, And considering the player base combined of PC, X-BOX and PS3 users, 2% might be even generous.

No matter how much they play, Wii U players will NEVER max the manifest. They'll be missing at least 16 characters, 3 weapons, and 5 gear. Wii U players don't get Retaliation (or any future DLC). They can max what they have access to, but is that really the same?

So I think the reasoning of Bioware behind the decision to make all black weapon regular SP/PSP obtainable weapons was to allow the WII players access to those promotional weapons as well.
And frankly, although I am also only 4 points in the collector SMG away from maxing out my manifest, I don't care that much what people playing on the WII get or don't get.
And I don't care too much for most promotional weapons as well, except the Hurricane and maybe the Valiant. So I am happy once I have maxed out those too.
I think Bioware should dedicate their resources to fix the bugs they introduced with Retaliation DLC and especially with the latest characters like the Huntress (cloak not giving weapon bonus) and the Brawler (staggering sensitivity) and not put too much effort into the WII stuff.
But that's just my perspective as an Xbox player. I guess the WII people have a different opinion.

The overall discrepancy is that if an Xbox/PC/PS gamer bought ME3 the same time a Wii player did, they should be in the same boat as far as the promo items. If these same two gamers spent the same amount of time playing, the Wii gamer fairs much better at getting promo items sooner (no math needed for that).
If BW didn't 'anticipate' people being upset with yet another screwd tactic in regards to ME3, then I'm really starting to question whether I will continue doing business with them. "Hiding out in the open" is just as insulting as that "artistic integrity" nonsense.
I welcome the Wii-ers to the ME universe.

I'm currently #3 on our global leaderboards (2000+ depending on when I post this) which isnt anything compared to players on the other systems. The majority of the community is still farming bronze, and beginning to push into silver. There are a few of us completing gold / platinum runs, but there are only about 12-15 that I know of consistently doing so. One or two players have come over from the 360 spreading missile glitch madness, and a few others have crossed over as well, but are mentoring us and are actually very fun to play with.
The average player on the Wii U will generally stay out of the circle during final extraction shooting enemies, or attempt to run while carrying objects, and most do not even know about combos that abilities can prime / detonate. The plus side to this is that the game pad actually functions as a mic while playing, and 90% of the people you encounter will be able to hear you if you explain how hacking works, or what a partial extraction is, even though there is a bug that sometimes prevents players from answering back. Our general work around to this is double tapping the ready sign to indicate we can hear whoever is asking before a game.
Its common to encounter grown / mature people in the player base, and after my first 500 games I can say that I've only met 5 or 6 little kids, and I will play with anyone once or twice. Playing on the pad is amazing, and I dont have connectivity issues with my gamepad even up to 20 feet from the Wii U. It can hold a charge anywhere from 2-3 hours, and something I've also noticed is that having the action localized to the gamepad screen seems to help the tracking speed of my movements, and a few people I've asked have noticed this as well. I usually play my fury only on the game pad, so I can sprint around spamming my combos with the heightened feeling of accuracy and focus the pad gives me.
There does seem to be a bug on weekends with the search engine. We sometimes invite one another to games but never receive invitation notifications. Players will appear greyed out when they are online and looking for games. The escort missions will randomly bug, and the host will have to leave to reset the wave, but since the search engine is so moody, They usually cant find their way back to the room afterwards. I have never been kicked off or lost my connection at wave 10 or anything that frustrating, but every now and then it can really kill the mood when you have a good tempo going. Retaliation is not currently on the Wii U version, and is rumored to be very far off in the horizon, if it will be a possibility at all. This is good or bad depending on how you look at it, but honestly, I think most of the player base isnt ready for the collectors. From what I have seen of them anyway
For individual characters : The fury sometimes doesnt display activating annhilation field, so it can be easy to lose track of knowing if you'll be detonating or activating it when you press the button. Its only frustrating when I expect to leech a lone enemies shields, and end up leeching a melee attack to the face instead. Sometimes the fury will also fail to leech shields if your host has low latency. This was a bigger issue over the last few months, but now that there is a 10$ adaptor for direct internet cables to connect to the Wii U its vanishing fairly quickly.
Biotic Charge and Shadow Strike seem to get "stuck" sometimes, and pressing it 7 or 8 times will result in your character awkwardly standing in the same place while projectiles rain down on him / her like a 300 scene gone horribly wrong. It seems to come and go, and we arent certain if its a host latency issue or black magic.
Combos seem to detonate fine, but it does look like the paladin has a weird glitch where his combos detonate at his feet. This can be good or bad depending on how you look at it, and how you manipulate it.
If you fancy the n7 slayer, phase disruptor has a 2 or 3 second delay after pressing depending on host latency, and I strongly suggest hosting the game if you plan on playing any vanguard, or the shadow, just so you arent at the mercy of a quick join where everything is moon walking. Its pretty rare but when it happens, its so annoying that it makes up for it. In this community finding a good game is pretty precious, and losing it can equal quick join hell for 10 or 20 minutes. The plus side to that is being able to plan when to play and who to play with from the community page on the wii u. That's how I've met the people I play with now.
The weapons that I have noticed are very host dependant are the striker, graal spike thrower, and kishock harpoon gun. I'm not certain if that's all of them, because I have quite a few ultra rares to find, but every other weapon works perfectly from gold cards down.
Spectre packs seem to favor weapons, and premiums favor characters. Its not always that way, but after buying tons of both, I'm sure enough to say so.
That's everything I can think of, off the top of my head. If you guys are still wondering how the community on our side is developing, you can look up Johnny1986 for an idea of how geared the 1% is getting. Wild_Orc is the highest rated and upgraded character as far as I know, so that may help give you an idea as well. I dont know if anyone has soloed gold or platinum yet. I have made it to wave 10 on gold with my shadow, but I made the mistake of getting too close the drones as I was working on the primes at the end, and paid for it.
Whether or not we match up to the other platforms, I am happy to have other Mass Effect lovers to communicate with, and it would be an honor to learn from you guys, and provide with any info you would like regarding the Wii U version of Mass Effect. Have a good night everyone

WHAT!? Why!? We (XBox, PS3, PC) MUST play the events to get the promo weapons and the people on the WiiU get them in SPs and PSPs?
Us, guaranteed to get one a week. Them, could go months without seeing a Valiant or Hurricane.
Some of us work weekends and those challenges are a bit more difficult with our sleep schedules. I would prefer they come from packs, but I do love commendation packs, too.
Also, not all of use have been playing from the beginning. I only started multiplayer around Halloween 2012.
