I know how heavily gimped people think he is, and frankly i don't really damn a give. However. I saw a tip on how to maximize the Werewolf forms usage for longer. It claimed that i had to set a proficiency point in Single Weapon style. But the damn creature has two paws. Shouldn't i put it in Dual Wield? Can any vet explain me this?
Also if anyone can be bothered, could you list me the non-obvious upsides to this kit and/or if there's something specific i should aim for.
Should be Noted that i'm in BGEE so the rules are the same as ToB. My party is Khalid, Jaheira, a Monk, Imoen and a Wild Mage.
Just started a Shapeshifter. Advice please!

For a werewolf attacking with both paws comes naturally so there's not the same need to train as for a human. Arguably the advantage of the single weapon proficiency (to double the number of critical hits) is a bug, but don't worry about that.
I've played with the kit a bit and it seems pretty powerful to me. It's gimped compared to the standard greater werewolf, but still fights better than you'd be likely to manage in human form. As with any shape buffs make a big difference so make sure you experiment with those.

So it's viable? From what i understood there, Dual Wield proficiency would do nothing as it's already natural, but single weapon, due to a bug, grants me a bucket of crits. So does weapon and style proficiency even have a non-bugged effect on Werewolf form?

It's certainly viable in BG1 and SoA. I've never tried it in ToB, but don't see why it shouldn't be successful. Weapon proficiencies make no difference to the werewolf form, but there will be occasions when you're better off attacking in your normal form, so weapon choice will be important there. The only style proficiency that makes any difference to the werewolf form is single weapon - allowing criticals on a 19 as well as a 20.

Sounds great. Thanks! Already in early-mid BG1 i'm reaching a point where he kinda has to swap forms once or twice.
