The ME3 Happy Ending Mod (MEHEM) v. 0.2:
by The Fob
Requirements:
This mod was tested with Mass Effect 3 v1.4.5427.111 with the Extended Cut DLC installed. It was not tested or created with the Leviathan (or any later) DLC installed but it might still work.
At the moment, you need to run this mod with a Shepard who started the Cerberus HQ mission with the Extended Cut already installed. If you use e.g. an AutoSave from the "Citadel: The Retrun" mission that was created when the EC was not installed, the game may default back to the old cutscenes at some point.
Note:
BioWare has made it clear that they endorse single player mods. Your BSN or Origin account will not be compromised or affected if you use this mod. See here:

1. Make backups of all your Mass Effect 3 files or read through these instructions carefully and make backups of all the files you are about to change. In the following steps, the install directory for your Mass Effect 3 game will be called <Your ME3 Install directory>
2. Extract the MEHEM archive anywhere on your computer. In the following steps, the folder, where the archive has been extracted to will be called <MEHEM-Archive>.
3. Open "<MEHEM-Archive>\\Main_Game\\BioGame\\". Copy the file "PCConsoleTOC.bin" into the folder "<Your ME3 Install directory>\\BioGame\\" and replace the original file there.
4. Open "<MEHEM-Archive>\\Main_Game\\BioGame\\CookkedPCConsole\\". Copy the file "BioGame_INT.tlk" into the folder "<Your ME3 Install directory>\\BioGame\\CookedPCConsole\\" and replace the original file there. Do the same with the file "wwise_end001_cinedesign.afc".

OPTIONAL Add-In:
Thaks goes to BSN user areyouareaper for providing these wonderful new slides!
What is this?
If the Quarians and the Geth have made peace or if you chose to help the Geth in your game and if you want to see the Geth during the epilogue slides, you can use this optional add-in to make them appear. I did not include this in the mod proper since I have no way to ask the game if your Shepard made peace between the Quarians and the geth or not. So only use this add-in if it is appropriate for your Shepard.
Add-In Instructions:
1. Open "<MEHEM-Archive>\\DLCExplorer\\". Double click "DLCExplorer.exe" to open the DLCExplorer program.
2. In the main window of the DLCExplorer, click the yellow folder icon in the top left corner to open a DLC file. In the upcoming window, navigate to the folder "<Your ME3 Install directory>\\BioGame\\DLC\\DLC_CON_END\\CookedPCConsole\\" and open the file "Default.sfar".
3. In the main window of the DLCExplorer, double click the folder that now shows up. You will see the subfolder "BioGame". Open it and open the 2 following subfolders "DLC" and "DLC_CON_END". Now open the subfolder "Movies"
4. In the main DLCExplorer window, scroll down to find the file "End03_D_RanQA_QuarCity.bik". Rhight click it and choose "Replace" in the context menue.
5. In the opening window, navigate to "<MEHEM-Archive>\\Add-Ins\\DLC_CON_END\\Movies\\" and double click the file "End03_D_RanQA_QuarCity.bik". Now you should be back in the DLCExplorer main window and the file "End03_D_RanQA_QuarCity.bik" should be highlighted in yellow.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to replace the file "End03_D_RanQGD_WasteLand.bik" as well.
7. In the upper left corner of the main DLCExplorer window, klick the button next to the yellow folder button (You will see the tool tip "Save" if you hover over it with your mouse). Thanks:
A huge “Thank you!” goes to warrantyvoider and the gang from the “Creating new end for Mass Effect 3” facebook group as well as to AmaroK86 for support and a lot of the tools I used and to Gildor for having an awesome web page about “everything Unreal”. Cheers!
A special thanks also goes to Maluka "Malufenix", over on youtube with her incredible Shepard tribute song "Reignite"!
Thank you also to areyouareaper for making the new Geth/Quarian slides.
And of course, the final and most important "Thank You!" goes to the folks at BioWare who created the most awesome (in the literary sense of the word) universe, not in gaming but in all fields of entertainment as far as I am concerned. And although many of us were not happy with how it ended, it must be said that Mass Effect as a whole is and remains a masterpiece. Thanks for making it!
Known Issues:
- Sound and video editing is a bit awkward at times. This was my very first attempt at video editing of nay kind and there was very limited source material, so sorry for that.
- The "Hugging scene can produce a lot of clipping errors, I hope to do something about that eventually.
Please let me know about any issues or bugs you find. I could only test this with two Shepards so there may be quite a few issues arising in situations I could not test.
Also, if you like the mod, I am always happy to see people post on youtube or BSN.
Have fun and cheers,
The Fob
