I know DAII isn't thought very highly of here (though I enjoy it much better after ME3), but is anyone else hoping they release a novel or something similar to continue what was supposed to happen before it was cancelled, in the lead up to DAIII?

A very stupid/childish part of me thinks that if this were to happen, I'd enjoy the hell out of it if it was a ridiculous choose your adventure story. :D

You should have posted this in the DA2 section since this does not relate to DA3 and will likely be locked

Yeah, I should've, but I figure everyone avoids it now to talk about ME3 or the Inquisition (nobody expects it)...

And it could work as a lead up to DA:I, be able to tell some back story.

Some of the plots are being folded into Inquisition.

Hopefully Mike and David can give Hawke some sort of closure (even if they have to resort to the codex); if not, then I hope David will eventually tell us how it was intended to play out.

One of the ways I see this going is DA3 DLC... it was supposed to be for DA2, but let's face it, it'll probably sell a lot more as part of DA3.

I would have liked some closure on Hawke and being able to come away the game as satisfied as i was when i got to the end of Origins.instead i come away from DA 2 wanting more Hawke. I would like something more meaningful than a codex entry. The Warden on the hand can just be a codex entry and a happy memory of the only game i have ever played religiously for a year. With DA 2 i played it for 9 months and went away from it when Skyrim appeared, the real surprise for me in that game is that i cannot name a single character who i remotely cared about, yet in DA 2 i found 8 characters i cared about . Now finally having all the DLC for DA 2 i have gone back to it and find that the DLC starts to address the problems and game is much improved and closer to what it should have being. But had it being for Jo Wyatt's charming VA and default Fem Hawke being desperately pretty,i doubt i would have wanted to go back to DA 2 and give it a second chance.

This is actually a really good idea. We could also get some closure regarding the warden's dissapperacne/what's beyond the eluvian/what was in Morrigan's pack through a Warden-centric DLC. It'd also be an acceptable way to bring the characters back.

He could write a book from Aveline and/or Cullen's perspective as they experience and deal with the march on Kirkwall.  Or another character (Varric?), those just seem like the best picks to me.

Chances of a book or comic with Hawke are non existant.  Can't canonize sex/appearence/class.  Well, shouldn't.  But someone like Aveline could comment on what they did and where they went without having to deal with those kinds of specifics.

I thought this was going to be implemented in the third game as one part of the scenario.

I wish we got the rest of Hawke's story. If they show up in DA:I just rocking the war out, I'd be so happy.
