Hm, I must say you've got me interested in the Ser Gilmore mod. I hope he's romanceable by guys though. :innocent:pizzapicante wrote...
Why in the name of the maker is this 3 pages long and no one has mentioned:

However, I've watched two or three videos and, while the voice actor is great, the sound quality seems to be rather poor in the original campaign. Does it really sound like that the whole game? It's strange. He sounds wonderful in Awakening. As if he's an original NPC. Not so much in the OC. Of course, I know it's not easy to make a mod like this and I applaud to the people who dedicated so much time and love to make this happen, but I can't help but be bothered by the sound.

Only one mod I wish I had on my first play through was skip the fade. You will no doubt realise why after you meet a certain sloth demon, but since its your first play through you have to suffer through it like everyone else
I don't know why everyone hates this part. I think it's fine. Just remember: 21 points must be earned before you leave

My suggestion, for all that is worth, is to install and use whatever fixes appeal to you and leave it at that. If you enjoyed the game and want to do some other origins, then install the customizations and such.

Though at times it is tedious to backtrack for a single essence. Especially when you know it like the back of your hand, it no longer remains a puzzle. Only during my 1st playthrough it was interesting and frustrating at the same time. During subsequent playthroughs, it is not really a puzzle, & neither stumulating. But it gives me somethings to sink my blade into. That's my take on the fade, & at the same time, i believe the skip the fade mod is among the best mods.

So, please, stop with this.
I am happy to hear about mod suggestions, but I don't want even know which are the names on the World Map before going there myself.
Moreover, no one here has even written "WARNING SPOILERS", so I had to jump here and there trying to read the less I can.
Please, respect my wish of not wanting the game spoiled. Thank you.

Guys, please, PLEASE!!! This is my FIRST PLAYTHROUGH. I don't even know what this fade is and I DON'T WANT to hear anything about that. I don't want spoilers, this is a no-spoiler section.

My apologies. You are absolutely right in asking this.
Enjoy the game!

@ Vanilka: if I remember, you linked the underwear mod via PM, still I haven't tried it, since my Warden actually wears the robe you linked 2 pages before :-D But... isn't it a bit "colliding" with a fantasy-medieval background those kind (also the vanilla one) of undergarment? o.O

Anyway, back to the mods. As for the underwear, I wonder. I mean, the original underwear looks rather modern, as well. I assume that they simply have "our" underwear. Well, girls do at least. Of course, they probably don't have exactly the same things, but still... I might be mistaken, but I don't consider the new underwear lore-breaking as the original one already looks similar, only differing with texture. I guess we should stop comparing DA world to our world. Yes, such underwear did not exist in the Middle Ages, but DA:O is not set in the Middle Ages. Whether or not the new underwear is appropriate, well, we could argue about that, I guess.
With all that said, I would welcome something more... fantasy-looking. Something like the underwear in good old Neverwinter Nights. I might try to make something like that eventually, but I am at the very beginning of my modding career. I have a long way to go before I'll be able to do something like that. I would have to deal with some of the cutscenes where the underwear is not supposed to be seen, too. It's complicated.

So, what kind of mod are you going to perform? In case, I've ended my 3ds Max classes, so now I can create meshes! ^^

But I can't say anything for certain. Maybe I won't even get to it in the end. I don't want to promise anything.

I suppose you should start with texturing (ie: applying an image, like the hair or their colour to a mesh, which is the 3d shape), that is easier and doesn't required any specific software.
Modifying the underwear is easier because you are "drawing" a different cloth over the shape (mesh) of the body or of the vanilla underwear. That is a lot easier than modelling a hair-style mesh.
However, modding is fun, I think you should try ^^
