Recommendations for DLC purchase would be appreciated. Which one of the DLC actually add something to the plot and or story for Dragon Age 2. If you feel DLC does not add much to the game. Please say so. Thank you.

Both are standalone (i.e. less plot - that we know of), but they do add background info for Hawke family, Orlais, and party members.

I think Legacy is the best of the two and could story-wise be the most relevant. I don't recommend MotA. I appreciate the humor DAO and DA2 portray, but MotA was too much of a comedy fest (oooh, Orlesians are so silly. Cheese!) and it contained the first companion I consider to be badly written. A crime in DA.
