Eagle is pretty good. Put on the Cranial Trauma mod and go to town. It is comically good on the Turian Soldier.

Good question. I might try it when I've got it at VII or something like this but right now I totally ignore it...

I just started using it for the pistol challenge and like it quite a bit.  At IV now.  The balance changes have pushed this gun from useless to nearly useful.

Instead of beating up on the Eagle, I'd say we would be better off pushing for promo weapons to be offered more frequently.

Make weekend events have both an indivdual and community goal and give a promo for each. Right now there is little to no motivation for the community to complete community goals (if they are even offered at this point). Jumbo equipment packs are just not a big motivation to anyone who is playing gold or platinum with regularity.

If doubling the frequency is too much, and considering the community goal has been absent most of the time since they automated the weekend events, do the community goals every other weekend and offer the promo (or the consumable slot upgrade as an alternate when you want to pump up those).

The Eagle isn't the problem in itself as much as it seems people not liking it compared to the other promo weapons. This is magnified by the rarity, so get rid of some of the rarity to reduce the irritation of the problem. We're already looking at more than 6 months from today to have the potential to max out promo weapons at the current rate (and that assumes you've played and will play every event). Uping their frequency doesn't seem unreasonable.

I've been a fan of the eagle since I first got it, which was long before the buffs.
With the buffs, I sometimes like it more than even the harrier thanks its hefty amount of ammo.
It has and will always be the sidearm of my human soldier.

Your 414 is almost 20% below. I wouldn't call that close enough.

And you'll have to keep this up for 3.5 seconds to match the full clip of the Eagle.

And you'll have to pull this off a couple of dozen times during a 20 minute match. 

All while keeping your crosshairs on target to make every bullet count.

Good luck - even if I COULD do it, I think I'd pass.

Before the buffs, I'd never have thought that I'd rush to the Eagle's defense. Hell, I even chimed in when there was a similar thread a few months back. But nowadays, this gun is far better than its reputation.

The eagle shines with marksman, otherwise, you have to use a stability consumable IMO.

Wow- that's really fast.  Looks like you're on PC, and I guess you mouse-clickers can shoot a little faster.  Can you do it while aiming consistently though?

I'm on XBox, and I'd be surprised if there are more than a few people in the entire world who can pull an XBox trigger that fast, even without aiming.  I can barely max out the Phalanx's fire rate (250 RPM).

So the real problem is, that for those that only use 1 or 2 weapons, the Acolyte is also a great caster weapon. And people get caught up in the whole pre buff state of weapons and don't try them again.  
 
My brother only wants to get the Eagle and I don't mind leveling it up either. I completed the Hurricane and Valiant challenges a long time ago, so trying out a new gun would be pretty fun. 
 
Also there are so many guns to use that the promotional weapons are a nice to have not a must have. I remember when I was only getting Javelin upgrades before it was buffed. I prefered other guns at the time but look at the Javelin now. (I'm still learning to use the damn thing though, it might be awesome but it is hard)
