The Eagle is pretty good. If you've got RoF and/or accuracy bonuses, it rapes things. Like, really hard.

I started using it on casters as a goof, but my Eagle VII is a very good weapon on Gold.

Is it just me or is the eagle only "good" when you fire it from cover?

Feels like complete trash when not in cover

Yup - though I've got a Valkyrie III and Eagle V... but tbh, I find the Valkyrie, overall, worse than either the Hornet or Vindicator (similar burst fire guns) :\\ By far the worst promotional weapon for me.

Try it with a Turian Soldier with a fully evolved Marksman power + mods + equipment. Very surprising!
It's not the water-pistol it's made out to be.

Personally, I don't think any of the promo weapons (except the Hurricane) are worthwhile. Valkyrie is not as a good as a Harrier, Crusader has a niche perhaps but doesn't stand out against already existing shotguns, Eagle is not exceptional especially once you realize it's competing against the Hurricane, and I don't have a Valiant, but from what I hear it's rather unremarkable as well.

I'm so tired of seeing this. The eagle is a good gun, it's been buffed numerous times. I have it on probably the same level as you right now, and it does pretty good damage.

Also, you people need to quit being so stubborn and over-dramatic. You're just mad because you didn't get your valiant/hurricane X yet, boo-hoo.

(One more thing: stop comparing the Eagle to the Hurricane. I've seen people do it, and it's stupid. It's not in the same category of weapons, why would you compare them? It's like trying to compare grapes with bananas. )

so some of you dont like the gun.... so dont use it, see how simple that is.

besides someday when most of you realize that it is a good gun, is the day when you actually become a decent average player.

I've outscored many people with my Eagle... Once again, the usage of the weapon depends on the person wielding it. Not the other way around. *sigh*

Good on the Tsol. Strap on some pistol mods and high level ammo and it's definitely playable.

What? No. They're the exact same. The Eagle is a submachine gun just like the Crusader is actually a sniper rifle, the Talon is actually a shotgun, and the Indra is an assault rifle. Even if you don't buy this argument, they're both full-automatic lightweight weapons ideal for casters. The comparison is obvious.

I've seen a number of people wanting a full-auto Mattock. That's basically what a Heavy Barrel Eagle X is after the last round of buffs. It's been damage buffed by 40% since release...

I like killing things fast, if that's what you mean. You're right about the bullet spread. That's not enough to save the weapon for me because if I'm trying to kill things at range, there are still much better choices than the Eagle. Bring it in to close range, and the Hurricane is 10x better.

Part of the problem I have with the Eagle, too, is that as a weapon would generally only consider using on a caster, it's take the spot where I would normally put an Acolyte. If I'm kitting out a biotic and have to choose Eagle or Acolyte, the Acolyte will win every time, especially when I know I have a Hurricane available.

I hope I'm not coming on too strong, sometimes when I'm posting on the internet I sound more vehement than I really meant to. I'm glad there are people who like the Eagle, more power to you guys. It's just that to me, the Eagle doesn't really seem to do anything particuliarly well.

Why the hell are people comparing the Eagle to the Hurricane? Sure, hurricane can do more damage faster.. You'd be hard pressed to find something that it can't do damage faster than. The Hurricane also kicks like a mule and has worse accuracy than the Piranha, firing so fast that if you miss even a little, then half your clip is wasted. Yet, you're comparing that to a light pistol with good accuracy, just because they are both full auto and promo weapons? Yeah, good luck landing 50%+ of a Hurricane's clip squarely onto an enemy's face like one can do with an Eagle.

If you hate them that much, do what I do with Capcom: even if they release a decent game, I tell myself, "it's only decent. The Heavy Barrel helps to make up some of the damage disparity, and unless you have a hell of a lot of AP Rounds in store, the Eagle can also bring the Piercing Mod without dropping 25% damage, which the Hurricane cannot do.

Better choices or not, the Eagle is still better at engaging targets at a distance than the Hurricane is. The Hurricane is hardly 10 times better than the Eagle in close range(Maybe if you have Hurricane X vs Eagle I, but even then I doubt it).

But let me turn this around on the Hurricane:

The Hurricane is not worthwhile because at the shorter ranges it's primarily used at, the Piranha has superior damage output and is a better choice.

That would be an entirely true statement with the logic you've been arguing, and yet you call the Hurricane worthwhile.
