I just broke 180k with it on a Turian Soldier. I was playing with a friend who also broke 160k with a Wraith wielding Volus though... yeah the PUGs were REALLY bad...

You can do the same with a predator. Is the predator good? No.

You can do the same with all Pistols and SMGs. What they lack in damage they make up for with the sheer ease to headshot. You can easily take down a Marauder in about 8 bullets if you headshot on the Turian Soldier specced for Headshots for passive and Marksman. They are sidearms and weigh less than 1  for a reason, they aren't meant to deal amazing damage. Though they can do just that if you have good aim. A good player can turn them from Sidearm to Primary Weapons.

Sure, that was exactly my point. It doesn't prove that the Eagle isn't a pretty bad weapon. And as it is now, I need proof of that before I start to use it again on any character.

Just try it out man. Mine's at IV and even as a console peasant I can easily wipe out mooks, and, with consumables can do a decent amount of damage against Armour.

Sure you're never gonna do as much damage as someone with a Harrier, Javelin or Raider but it is a good weapon. It's one of only four pistols I regularly use (The Scorpion, Talon and Acolyte being the other three). And I prefer it over ALOT of the other automatic weapons including most SMGs and quite a few Assault Rifles.

Use  Heavy Barrel and  Magazine Upgrade. This may sound stupid but, aim for the head. It is one of few weapons that I can regularly headshot on (20 headshots often before the first objective is complete even on console)... or maybe it's one of few I regularly aim for headshots on... either way it's not a bad weapon. It doesn't deserve the hate it gets here on the BSN. Cuold it be buffed? Well yes. But does it need a buff? No...

Lots of people bashing me for hating the eagle, but equally complain about the hurricane and the valiant. Due to accuracy and fire rate, valiant is one of the best sniper rifles in the game. You can put rounds fast on target with a fast reload, its a short clip marksman rifle. I've tried the black widow quite a bit and its just not as good. Slow fire rate, high recoil compared to valiant.
Same with the hurricane, it was the first N7 I unlocked 9 months ago and it was terrible. Massive recoil, unreliable unless at point blank range. Now its good, but you need a heat sink and stabalizer/smg AP barrel to make it versatile. Pours through ammo, but its good. If they set up a trade system sometime, you bookmark this and I'll give you all my eagle for hurricane and valiant.

The eagle is a great weapon.
I personally don't like the hurricane, just doesn't "feel" right in my hands.
That doesn't make it a bad weapon.

Acolyte is so much better on casters. Gets rid of those pesky shields then you can biotic/tech widdle them away. More efficient.

It depends on which character you are using and your play style really. I do love the acolyte.

I solo with only an Eagle. If it's not working for someone, it's just not their style of playing. No need to throw it under the bus just because it doesn't suit your tastes.

I think it needs just another slight damage buff to make it N7 level. It's a great gun, but it doesn't feel above Gold level. It should be on the levels of the Talon and the Paladin, not on par with the Carnifex or the Arc Pistol.

Well after the fourth buff it is at least playable now and doesn't weigh that much.

But I agree, other promotional weapons are more fun.

I have better pistols and with Hurricane IX and Tempest X Better smg's too

Like others have said, put it on a Turian Soldier with heavy barrel and extended clip. No scope or recoil mods required. Marksman constantly. Fun!

The Eagle is good, people...

It certainly isn't Platinum-worthy and needs some help on Gold, but aside from that the only problem I still have is recoil. It doesn't do tons of damage because that just isn't what it was made for.

I love the eagle. It's light and automatic. Perfect match for a volus or salarian.
