One of my favorite parts about the homes in Skyrim is the ability to equip a mannequin with the armor you've collected but aren't wearing and don't want to sell. Assassin's Creed does this too, but it's automatic. I'd like for there to be something similar in DA3 if possible. Some of the armor sets in DA2 were really nice to look at, and it sucked to just chuck them in a chest once you've found a better set, especially in the case of the nice DLC armor. Maybe weapons, too? I want to be able to gaze at the pretty pretty things I have amassed and reflect upon the people I have murdered and looted.

Speaking of Assassin's Creed, another thing I like about the base in AC3 is how the house is decorated with mementos of missions after you complete them. It's basically seeing an achievement in the game world. I think that kind of detail would be especially relevant in a Dragon Age game where the memento could reflect your choices, love interest, etc.

Thoughts?

I would like this too. Just to make the game more personal. If the rumors of us owning and running our own castle is true this could really help make the castle feel personal. We could have armors on mannequins and other treasures we collect hanging around. I hope Bioware implements this idea.

I think this is a great idea. Except, I think I would prefer the achievements to stay reflected in the story, character and lore developmentout and to otherwise stay outside of the game world.

If we could have mannequins to display armour I don't want to sell (or can't sell as with the DLC of II, for more than 1 gold), I'd feel much less inclined to stick with weaker armour, just to appease my attractions fondness for the designs.

Haha, definitely. Although I'm sure there'd be some way to acknowledge a gamey achievement with lore, for example if you were to master the archery tree you might get a plaque from a hunting club in Orlais recognizing your excellence of the art of bowmanship.

Maybe to make it quest-y you can collect mementos of places you've been by finding them in the environment instead of being rewarded them automatically.

I'm really fond of this kind of thing, heh.

I was fond of seeing the trophies in the DA:A's Vigil's Keep throne room. Perhaps if we had an ounce of that, and a pinch of Batcave (complete with giant gold Orzammar coin), things would feel right cozy.

I liked the idea of displaying my stuff in Elder Scrolls in principle, and even had a go at setting up my collection, but ultimately it just felt pretty pointless. Not like anyone comes around to admire my well decorated walls.

If there were going to be some sort of trophies or mementoes, I'd ideally want there to be an element of choice. Some things my character might not want to remember, or they might prefer to commemorate lost friends rather than defeated enemies.

What could be really snazzy would be if the things you chose to display had some effect on the game or dialogue taking place in that room - maybe showing off the head of a dragon you killed makes people listen to your threats more or displaying off the gift given to you by the Empress gains you respect with Orlesians.

It would be nice if there was something you could do with cool-looking but obsolete armor besides selling it to some merchant, definitely.

Maybe with a little bit of Shepard's cabin thrown in, having some baubles from certain quests show up in your bedchamber.

I think this is a really neat idea.

what would also be cool would be if in game choices affected the trophies you got. Side with a mage, get a sparkly magic ball, side with the templars get a shield. So by the end of the game not two trophy cabinets are the same.
