Maybe I'm jumping the gun here, but I'd really like to know whether Cassandra is supposed to be a warrior or a rogue. I've seen Dawn of the Seeker, and she seems like a rogue, but I've always gotten the impression that she was a warrior.

This is a picture of Leliana and Cassandra during the epilogue. I assume people know how the game ends, it's not my fault if you're here, but you haven't played DA2 (or finished it). I can show this because there is no mention of whether we're allowed to show/say spoilers from either of the first two main games here.

Posted Image

We see here, that Leliana is wearing Seeker armour, suggesting she's is a Seeker. We know she is a rogue, and really the only difference between her and Cassandra's armour, is the shoulder pading. We can also see that Cassandra is of higher rank than her and the others in the picture. We know Cassandra must be, because she can order other Seekers around (possibly those 2 unnamed ones) as seen during the opening scene, and she seems to be the lead investigator. As the Seekers are investigators, and given the facts I've stated, it seems rather obvious she is of higher rank. But does that mean she's a rogue too? No. We don't know if those 2 unnamed characters are rogues or warriors, so we can't really say one way or the other.

If you're wondering how this relates to DA3, here's why. So far we're only able to really stipulate what changes and new things will be in DA3, and many people - such as myself - believe Cassandra is going to be a companion.

I don't expect to be given a clear answer, unless Gaider or someone confirms it. (Likely, if they don't give an answer, but they do read this thread/OP, it's because she is a companion, or her importance in DA3 is too need-to-know to be relinquished here.)

She's probably a mix of the two.

According to DA:O mechanics she would be a warrior spec'd in both dual-wield / S&B.
According to DA2 mechanics she would be invalid and can't exist.

I'm going with Warrior. She might get her own unique weapons and ability tree (dual swords?), but I think she'll stay a Warrior.

I never got a rogue vibe from her in Dawn of the Seekers. She was running right into the fray with giant swords.

She is just defying DA2, but that still makes her awesome.

Who cares? It's not like her class has anything to do with her story.

If she's a companion we'll see then.

She is both, definitively, go see the movie: Dragon Age Dawn of the Seeker

She moves like rogue but she knows her way around with a shield.

There were loads of threads about which class Duncan was. People care about these things.

And that's good. It means that Bioware is doing a good job.

According to DA 2 mechanics, she would be a warrior who could only DW and had a special dedicated to DWing.

NPC's are not bound by the same rules as the PC. Varric uses a crossbow after all and you cannot use those in DA2, the Tal Vashoth and Qunari are spear trowing warriors and the Arishok is a duel wielding warrior... you argument is invalid. She could be anything she needs to be because that's the beauty of NPCs.

She also, in DA:O, has an amulet called Seeker`s Amulet, in her inventory.

She is an overpowered Mary Sue in that movie. The movie isn`t canon either, so I guess its invalid.

the devs said the movie was completely separate from the games, so.

If she is not a Seeker, why did Varric call her one?
Also Rawgrim, I am incapable of reading your posts without them being in Duncan's voice.

Good. My voice is pretty much like that anyway. Only with a norwegian accent and more rusty.

But it's the only thing that show us her skills in a fight :\\
