Yeah... you were right. It ripped apart the big armor alot better than I thought it would.

I even took it on Plat with no consumables in a PUG trash lobby (got dropped in wave 1 reapers/rio with only Sniper gear V on.. with just one guy in the lobby). I figured "ahh what the heck... got nothing to lose." I carried the hell out of that match with that Valiant X. The headshots made all the difference in the world... with all the amps on though... man did it kick ass.

GI is better with a burst fire weapon like Jav thanks to being a glass cannon.

I liked it better on the SI because of how energy drain setup the easy headshots... standing out in the open wasn't a problem because stuff was dying so fast. The higher damage on the GI didn't seem to matter too much. I was also specced for speed & vision, and I was using Adrenaline III's when I used it on him... the whole thing felt too fast (can't believe I'm saying that.) With some more trigger time I'm sure I'd get used to it.

Yup that too, though with more boss enemies on Plat I actually find setting up headshots less of a big deal (ie ED won't make a difference with aiming for a geth prime or banshee's head...).

Its not a question of theoretical DPS, to me personally, the actual DPS of a Valiant is downright good enough to be on par with a BW or a Jav. But maybe that's just my playstyle.

You are quite funny. Why did I do much better with the Viper? and always do FAR better with the Black Widow? I don't give a **** about the so-called maths, why? because in game, performance is what counts.

You do realise I snipe with the T.Soldier, not Infiltrators. Tell me on him, how the Valiant is better than the Viper and especially the Black Widow? and the thread is rated low because people are butthurt about a weapon they like. That doesn't change the fact that a Viper X on the T.Soldier will perfomr better than a Valiant II and a Black Widow X will perform better than both.

Well, there is your answer!  The Viper benefits a *lot* more than the Valiant from the Turian Soldier's weapon boosts, not to mention it is a lot lighter which means you can spam Marksman or powers faster.  Valiant II would suck rather royally on a Turian Soldier.
For infiltrators, the Viper is not a really good option because damage based does not care about weight, and it does not do so much damage per shot (cloak cycle)
So there we go, our disagreement is in our lack of communication!
Of *course* a Black Widow X or Viper X is going to perform better on a Turian Soldier, the discrepancy is not so apparent on infiltrators though.

You have to reload cancel with the valiant, if you do it well then u can literally reload after each shot and u retain the same fire rate

Just wanted to say that I played my first game with the Viper this morning and it was not great. Low damage and seemed like the only way to kill things quickly was with headshots and I was using Targeting VI III. Much prefer my low level Valiant. I'll need a few more Gold games with the Viper to get my Sniper Rifle Mastery banner though, so maybe it will grow on me.

Oh, get real. This has nothing to do with anyone insulting Valiant. Your first posts were just pure trolling. You made BS claims that Viper X is "leagues better" than Valiant II, that Valiant is "garbage" and that Viper "performs better". And you made many posts like that before mentioning the turian soldier.

Yes, there are corner cases where Viper is comparable to Valiant and it may indeed fit your playstyle and personal preferences better, but you can't make those kinds of generalized statements and expect people to take your word for it.

Generally speaking, Valiant - even at level I - is a better weapon. It shoots faster and does more damage per shot, while being very much a comparable weapon otherwise. It's as simple as that.

No, I don't contest that, even if I'm not entirely convinced. They're certainly comparable. I haven't done any extensive comparisons with that kit.

Seriously, I just skimmed the 1st page again and I found no mention of it. The Valiant is better on an infitlrator character than the Viper. When I tried to improve headshooting, I looked for multishot SR, my 1st try was the Viper, my 2nd the Valiant. I rarely ever use the Viper, Valiant has become my standard gun and I do OK with it. If you refer to specific class experience, make that clear from the beginning.

Viper being lame is excusable because it's uncommon. Valiant... not so much, seeing as it's promotional.

It's too bad, because back when MP first came out, the Valiant was one of the better snipers. Now, I've gotten it twice in the last 4 or 5 weeks of Commendation Packs, and I'd rather have a Valkyrie.
