Yup. An uncommon Sniper is much better than an elite Alliance commendation pack weapon. Maybe at X it is good but at II it is garbage.

It might have a big jump from 1 - 10 in damage like the valkyrie apparently does.

The Valiant does not have any noticeable jump in damage at all as you level it - only rounds total capacity

I get most effect on them if I shoot the skulls held inside of it.  A geat deal of the time this causes it to tumble backwards and stumble.  This can be incredibly useful when it is trying to get into the room with you, for instance.

Gotta sorta disgree with OP. I just started using the Viper as I decided to go for the sniper challenge. I like the viper and it works very well on Silver, but jumping to Gold it simply can't down the enemy as fast as the Valiant.

The OP is sorta right though in indirectly pointing out that the Valiant isn't really a UR or promotional weapon as there are better choices. The Viper just isn't one of them on Gold or Plat.

Headshots on Praetorians are right here, where all the heads are (go figure). I'm sure because I got the 20 headshot medal once when shooting here.



When they first show up the spot is protected by armor plates, you have to take down their health a bit before the skulls become exposed.

EDIT: It helps if you click through on the picture and enlarge it to see what I'm talking about. Just to be very clear, it's not the face, it's a bunch of husk skulls right below the armored face plate.

I got a Valiant II after this week's challenge, and took it out for a spin on my SI on Geth/Gold/Giant 3 times in a row, and holy crap does it dish out damage FAST. Definitely one of the best sniper rifles judging by my killfeed going nuts on my test drive. Prolly third best sniper after the Javelin and BW.

Don't see how's it worse than a Viper X, and at higher levels it might even top the BW in terms of sheer dps. Never used it before until today, but I'm impressed. It might underperform at lvl. II in Platinum tho, but I'm not sure since I hate Platinum.

I'm up to a Valiant VII, love that gun. I'd take it over the viper any day of the week. I did like the viper as well, when i used it for the challenge.

first thread ive pretty much ever "necroed" but it was discusssed in another valiant thread, and someone commented 12 hrs ago. i had some posts here.
i doubt you were really just talkin to me, but i wasnt doing this to be funny.

Why didn't I know this sooner? Oh yeah, it's because I avoid the collectors.
