Okay so for those of you that saw Dawn of The Seeker , didn't she fall in love with that mage in the movie ? They showed him kiss her and call her beautiful and blush and all that mushy stuff I mean I can understand why she hates the mages but she's just.......complicated

I don't recall her hating mages in DA2. Granted, I've not played it in a while.

Considering she calls mage supporting Hawke a hero, yeah.  Not a mage hater.

(but possessed of rather questionable judgement in the case of some Hawkes )

It's just the way Varric describes Hawke... it's so very... romantic.

Wasn't the seekers created to watch the templars? They are sort of like the internal affairs division of a police department.

I would say the seekers probably view mages and templars equally with suspicion.

In the movie, she definitely hated mages (at first) because they were responsible for killing her brother and destroying her village or something. But over the course of the movie she became a little more open-minded. I wouldn't say that she "fell in love" with that mage, but there was definitely some flirtatious chemistry there.

@Brushyourteeth (bellow) - I guess that vibe sort of came through. It was most certainly not one of those paramour-type of relationships, so I wouldn't say that you're too far off.

I got a total bro-vibe from Cassandra towards Regalyan, but apparently that's only me. I felt like the little peck she gave him at the end was less like "If only we could..." and more like "You're a sweet kid. Thanks for keeping me alive all this time." :/

I actually felt she was pretty open-minded about mages in DA2. None of what she said struck me as "Burn them! Burn them all!".

As far as the movie goes...well, can't say too much about that. Watched the first 10 - 20 minutes and gave up, mostly because I couldn't stand Regalyan.

Same here. I felt like Regalyan may have had feelings for her, but she was just wanting to be friends.

Yah know all this coupling of the potential characters is going to make stuff complicated in DAI if they're LI. I mean Cassandra apparently has someone and Evangeline and Rhys have each other as well.

*shrug* Relationships change.
Although I do admit that was one of the reasons I wasn't too fond of the movie. Cassandra's mine! /irrational fangirl logic

But it does seem as if the relationship between Cassandra and Re...whateverhisnamewas never really got past "Well, we probably could, but you're a good friend, so let's not".

I didn't think Cassandra hated the mages either. I don't think she was ever really operating in an Inquisitor fashion, but as the Hero of Orlais..and I think trying to track down different people like her for some reason (Hero of Ferelden, Champion of Kirkwall). I think she's suspicious of Hawke, but needs someone like that if the rumors are true. That's what DA2 seems to be setting up at least.
