Please make good ending for DA3!

Unfortunately bad endings are very popular these days. Sometimes I just stop playing at very end of game just to avoid disappointment. And by good ending I don`t mean that " Evil was finally defeated, put on it`s knees and cruelly murdered by Good" No I just want my PC to be alive and more Powerful than ever. That`s why I really liked ending in KOTOR-1 and hated ending in KOTOR-2 .
Hope I`m not alone in this.....

I hope not. Not after ME3!

It's true. We'll give it our best shot.

Why is that necessarily a "good" ending? Life and power? Is martyrdom, or sacrifice of power, for perhaps the greater good, necessarily a bad or lesser ending?

I also found the DA2 ending to be relatively upbeat, but it really was too sudden. Hopefully there's something they can do for Hawke in the future, just so we get something to work with in terms of closure.
It's not something I'm worried about for DA3, to be honest.

It feels strange, but I adore the Origins ending. Ultimate Sacrifice had just the right touch of everything for me (to this day, it's one of my all-time favorite video game endings).
I did the US on my first playthrough originally, but for some reason I didn't get funeral scene or even the epilogue slides. It just went right to the menu.
Immediately went back and did the ritual.

There's nothing wrong with the protagonist being in a position of power at the end of a story, but victory should come with cost. If your protagonist is powerful at the end, then he should be made to work hard in order to earn and keep that power.
Going from awesome to awesome-r is not a story, it's a shallow, indulgent power fantasy.

Thank you for depressing news! Looks like I`will have to just add another unfinished game to my list.

I'd be leery that these sorts of pleas aren't being influenced by ME3 (whose ending is pretty irredeemably awful). It's possible this is just a request to not have BioWare's next game turn out like their last one, rather than an actual desire for an ending with no opposing consequence.Plaintiff wrote...

Lately, I've tended to view these suggestions in that light (that is, of a person running away from that stupid child as fast as they possibly can—all they want is to get away, and the farthest thing in the direction of safety is a "happy" ending), even though it may be a disservice to the actual request being made.
Regardless, costless victory doesn't seem to be something the team is interested in.

They're Elizabeth Báthory and we're the poor virgins whose blood they bathe in to give their skin that healthy glow.

This. I don't really think that anyone intentionally thinks "lets make the crappiest ending ever."

Devsnark should be bottled and sold as seasoning. xp
Also my idea of a "good" ending is as far as fricking POSSIBLE from the OP's. That's what I call a boring closed off ending. I want an ending that makes me think. Both Origins and ME3 had this (not DA2 though, there was nothing to think about). There is absolutely nothing more dull in this world than a "and they lived happily ever after" ending. Because no one actually lives happily ever after. My opinion of course, wouldn't want my people to think my thoughts are being represented as facts or anything. XD

Games need lots of endings to validate the choices you make during the game.
If you have 2 endings then why give decisions, since they wont matter.

How about...multiple endings, unlocked based on our choices?
Edit: And as long as someone's taking orders, I'll have an Earn Your Happy Ending
