DA3 can't pull out any space magic if the ending is to be a success.

I agree the ending of DA2 wasn't bad, it wasn't very fulfilling. There are 2 main reasons for this in my opinion. first of all the end of the was here's the boss kill it and that is that. The lack of a proper epilogue really hurt it here. Secondly the entire point of the game was setting the stage for DA3 thus the ending lacked a certain punch and a lacking feeling. Still it set the stage and did what it needed to do it just didn't go far enough with saying goodbye to the characters.
DA2's ending was kinda weak. But it didn't wreck the game for me. I didn't (and still don't) regret playing. Not like another game that came out this year which for months made me regret ever hearing of the franchise...

3) Effect of player choice on the ending
Player choices should affect the ending and each player should have at least one ending they can live with.
DAO had a nicely done ending that wasn't necessarily happy, but which fit. I call it the "Life, Lover or Integrity: pick two" ending. Does the Warden kick the OGB can down the road and run off with Alistair to eat cake? (Life + Lover) Or does she refuse Morrigan and take the blow herself? (Lover + Integrity) Maybe she spares Loghain and has him sacrifice himself, knowing that Alistair will still hate her forever. (Life + Integrity) Maybe she allows her true love to save her life by sacrificing his soul. (Life + Integrity) Each ending has a downside, but it's up to the player to choose which downside is most palatable. This increases replayability.

By “good” I assume you mean happy? Well TBH I would prefer it was not a downer ending, There has to be some silver lining in there somewhere or leaves the whole thing feeling pointless (a series I was reading fairly recently ended in a downer and I’m still not over it ლ(ಠ益ಠლ))
My preference is for “bittersweet” or “earn your happy ending” which considering this is DA is probably what most of the endings are going to be with varying levels of sweet vs bitter based on your choices.

Or we could let Micheal Bay decide the ending, where it'll end with aliens, robots, explosions, huge boobs, and terrible acting.

It would be nice to have multiple endings. And I don't mean like how in DA2 you had to choose to be either pro-templar or pro-mage. In Origins there was at least some variation to the endings. We should have an ending, where you let everyone die and you're completely E-vil. Or something where your Mr. Goody-two shoes. And an inbetween ending.
Or we could let Micheal Bay decide the ending, where it'll end with aliens, robots, explosions, huge boobs, and terrible acting.
So ... Micheal Bay did the ending for Mass Effect 3
