You naughty thing!
*tries to figure out how to explain the fact she's chuckling while billing...will put it down to it actually being an evil chuckle and getting to hunt people down for their paperwork and rain on their shiney day*

@Creature: (oh man, we need a rofl icon so badly
A: Did you learn chess among the Crows, or...?
Z: Oh, yes, it was a good skill to have, for getting close to targets and all of that.
A: That must have been a nice break in your training..
Z: It was considerably more entertaining when all the chessboards were occupied...
A: ???

Suddenly, there was an urgent knocking at the door. Zevran glided into position next to the door, ready to leap upon anyone seeking to force their way inside. Alessar stood, his hand on the hilt of his dagger. {Editor's note: Or sword, if preferred.} "Who's there?" he asked loudly.
"It's me! Open up, it's important!" It was Alistair's voice.
Alessar opened the door and Alistair rushed in, Wynn fast on his heels. "What's going on?" asked Alessar.
"I have been challenged to a match! Wynn shall be my second. It is a matter of honor, I must accept!" Alistair looked quite grave. "If I should fail--no, it does not bear saying. Wish me luck!"
"But who has challenged you?" Alessar asked, with some confusion.
"I have no time to spare! The contest is one with which I am unfamiliar--I must beg leave to take your chess set."
"A battle of chess?" Alessar asked incredulously.
"Indeed! Maker favor me!" Alistair said fervently. Alessar watched speeclessly as he seized the small table and carried it out of the room. Wynn snatched up a few fallen chessmen and hurried after him, closing the door behind them.
"So," said Zevran, pouring a glass of wine. "I suppose we must find other ways of amusing ourselves."{Editor's note: No! Strike that!}
Alessar crossed to a desk standing against the wall and sketched a crosshatching on a piece of loose blotting paper. "Tic-tac-toe?" he asked, offering the quill to Zevran.

Alessar: Strip... chess?
Zevran: Mm. The rules are very straightforward: every time one of your pieces is captured, you must remove an article of clothing.
A: .... Can I go put my armor on, then?
Z: Don't you have confidence in your skills?
A: It's your skills I'm more concerned about...
Z: ... Are we still talking of chess? *grins*

I figured Zevran would totally bail
too. Would he have stayed if not for Alessar's faux pas? I think the
Crows sleep alone when possible. If a Crow goes to bed with a mark,
usually the goal is to kill them swiftly and get away. And sleeping
with a fellow Crow is perhaps being over-trusting. And an outsider, who
can trust them? If they don't slit your throat they might just walk off
with your purse.
Hmm, typing on my phone is an adventure! XD
I think at this stage, Zevran would have left, yes -- although he probably would have waited until Alessar fell asleep. Staying until morning seems far too familiar and comfortable and cozy. But things just got far too awkward...
(Hehe... point definitely taken about smart sleeping habits! "Habit" probably being the operative word... I don't think *anyone* in the company would suspect Alessar of that kind of post-tumble mischief... ;D)

Actually in my story Zevran left because it got awkward too--Zevran answered a question with an anecdote similar to his nymph reference and Blair called him on it. See you tomorrow!jenovan wrote...
