I see people make arguments all the time that lower clip size weapons are better and can match bigger clips with perfect reload or nearly so. This would be an adequate argument if you ignored the fact you get shot at and you reload can be interrupted. When you get rushed by mobs a larger clip size is defensibility you can run and gun instead of just run. Just running leaves you able to be shot in the back and downed even if you can cloak. Sometimes you don't get a chance to reload and you're down again and again by collectors (many high rof mooks) or geth stun lock city or even husks sometimes and even marauders and cannibals on gold can hole you so quickly that reloads are easily interrupted.

It is why in practice the saber is arguably superior to the paladin. I say arguably because some people just do better with certain weapons and their preference is legitimate. However, people making declarations of certainty are often wrong. Funny how the same people saying paladin is great often ask give us the fourth shot back. LOL.

If larger clip size were meaningless people would not have railed against pirahna losing two shots and the paladin one.

It is also a fact certain builds and mods make the advantage even further by granting more extra shots ex. destroyer.

Having to reload and replenish (less ammo) more at the same time impacts effective dps in games and increase risk exposure. The guns with higher clipsize often have a bigger ammo reserve (not going to count but was going to say almost always). This is an ignored fact.
