I know this is maybe not the right forum for this, but it won't let me post in the support forum.

The scene in question is the part where the Normandy jumps through the Mass Relay and into the battle between the Quarians and Geth. It's around 9:00 in this vid:

As you can hear in that vid, the character creation music is playing in the background (great track btw), but in my game there's no background music whatsoever. I've reloaded my save three times now, but still no music. This is the Xbox 360 version of the game.

Anyone else experienced this?

Sounds like a glitch. Have you tried a console restart?

Or you could head canon minimilist sound. Whatever you prefer.

lol

I've tried removing the Leviathan and Omega DLC from my hard drive, in case those were screwing it up. Still no music. I'll try re-installing disc 2 now.

edit: also tried without the Alternate apperance pack. still nothing. Same with groundside resistance pack.

Dude, try watching that scene without music. It's like 75% of the awesomeness just disappears. plus, I really like that track.

I've tried deleting all DLC, restarting my Xbox, reinstalling disc 2.... still no music. WHAT THE **** HAPPENED?!

Absolutely nothing has changed since my last playthrough, so why the hell did the music disappear?! ****!

edit: So does your import data affect the music playing at this part or something? Because this video has completely different music at that section. THIS IS CONFUSING!!

If you're going to try and insult me in another language, at least do it right.

It's called dialect, homie. And I wasn't insulting you.

Nah, insult was a weird choice of word from my side. But really, I've never heard the term "adios mio" before. Even if I search for it on google, nothing shows up.

This is bumped because I searched and this seemed to be the only relevant thread.

This happened to me yesterday. The music didn't play in the cutscene before this mission, and I reloaded it a bunch of times, switched out squad members, repaired the game. Doesn't make sense. It shouldn't be related to DLC installs because I know the music worked before with Leviathan, Omega and Citadel installed.

Anyone figure this out since a year ago?

It happened to me on a few playthroughs. But it started working again for me at some point awhile back. Not sure of a fix. Seems random.

A spacewalk seems best without music imo.

There are sometimes sound glitches. I've had a couple of those. You just have to restart the system. ME3 is bad everywhere!

It's not during the spacewalk. It's the cinematic sequence when the Normandy comes out of FTL and swerves through the Geth/Quarian space battle.

ME2 had it's sound glitches too. In much more noticeable places. Breaking immersion more than my ME3 experience ever has. The Warden boss fight on Purgatory and the showdown between Samara and Morinth come to mind. Dialogue and sound effects are out of sync by seconds if not muted entirely.

All 3 games have their glitches. Saying the game is "bad everywhere" is a bit over dramatic.

I didn't really have many issues with the sound in ME2. ME1 was more hit or miss to me.

I migrated ME3 to a solid state drive recently, that's about the only significant change I can think of. It is odd that it won't play the song. I will fool around with the audio sample rate and see if that matters. Changing in game between High and Low dynamic range didn't do anything.

I play on my 360 and I can't do any of those "fixes". It really just fixed on it's own. One playthrough, I just happened to notice that it was playing the music again. Idk...

Yeah I have no idea.  I deleted what I thought might be the movie files for the cutscene in this mission and ran the repair function to download them again.  That didn't do anything, although the file dates were more recent than my original versions.

For ME1 on PC there could be issues with various sound chipsets, and there were various fixes floated for changing the number of channels available in the config file. I don't think ME3 stores the same sort of data, or if it does it is somewhere else.

Then again if this is happening on console, I suppose it is probably just some sporadic error and I might not be able to do anything about it.
