I have this problem with FRAPS too, it will record fine for a very long time, then will randomly give me horrific frame rate spikes, on my volus solo I was as low as 5-6 frames while trying to escape the cerbie goons.

@Hendrix137 : I think I got escort 3 times in a row (can't quite recall the wave 6 one but last and first wave were escorts for sure). I'll start making it into mp4 now and upload when ready.
@Annomander: Damn and you still kept recording I see (since no pause on your video in the end )
I had to switch mine off to survive the phantom horde. Today is the first time the error ocurred aswel.

Edit:
Is there any way to make videos lenghtier than 15 mins without revealing your phone number for the google/youtube. (I don't want to commit to that "relationship")

I had the same problem with FRAPS, but I changed the hard drive and everything runs smoothly now.

I'm using MSI Afterburner for capturing - never noticed any slowdown if I set game to Fullscreen.  Borderless window will slow down on big open areas like Dagger courtyard with lots of enemies.

It was kite central.
It's too bad I didn't record my mic, my nonsensical rambling would have made for a good show.

Edit: And it occurs to me I neglected to uncheck the show cursor option. Oh the joys of seeing a cursor flutter around in front of the enemies... I'm a failure and disgrace.

I can't even solo Gold with the Paladin. A disgrace, you are not.

Updated the OP with some demographic information:

-Reapers are the most popular faction to solo against (Cerberus not far behind)

-Geth are the least popular faction; 4 out of the 6 geth solos chose geth because they had decoy, or were playing kroguard. One GI solo for Geth too. What does THAT tell you?

Giant is by far the most popular map for soloing.

Rio, Hydra and Dagger to my knowledge have never been solo'd on platinum, London has been solo'd once, but the solo is not listed here.

People also prefer soloing glacier over Condor.

Well, as I understand it, sync kills are NO deterrent. People are choosing Reapers or Cerberus (sync kill units from the very start).

It seems stun lock is actually a far worse thing than sync kills.

And most of the people who chose geth either had decoy (and thus were getting staggered only rarely) or played kroguard (and thus had high resistance to staggers), or played GI with pre-nerf krysae and so probably blew everything up before it could stagger them.

The one enigma if the group is redjohn's geth glacier solo as a batarian soldier, but he did have 7 inferno grenades and a harrier X....

Seriously, I did actually once attempted a plat solo vs geth but ugh, I just commited suicide on wave 4, it was WAY too annoying.

Of course, Redjohn is Redjohn.
