 Okay, i've got a platty solo done too:


I did it quite long ago, it's a Bat Soldier with Reegar (yeah...). Inc IV, Cyclonic IV, Shock Trooper and Targetting VIII (ran out of lvl 3 Shotgun amps and it's pretty easy to hit head with Reegar) Reapers, Giant.

Just tortured myself doing geth on dagger with a batarian soldier. I ran out of medigel on wave 10 but still got extraction. I'll upload the video sometime in the next few days. I'm definitely done with soloing platinum now.

Hey, why not make this Solo Hall Of Fame thing even more detailed?

There is one thing to have to only solo with a certain character, but it is a completely different thing to do it on every map and against every enemy faction.

Seeing as most people choose Giant for their solos it might spice things up if every solo was categorized by class, map and enemy instead of just class?

Problem is I would need to work out a system of categorising everything appropriately, though I admit it is a bit of a shame that people aren't attempting other maps than Giant.

Make an online spreadsheet instead. Maybe a bit like Narida, choose the platform, class, map and enemy and you will get top 10 players regarding categories like speed, amount of xp gained, who did it first, 10 waves survived, no consumables used etc.

I was attempting Dagger and Hydra pretty full-heartedly.  Those Wave 10 fails!

Also, if you can create a real "Hall of Fame" with some good stats and everything then it could become more of a competition. If it becomes a competition then you should request from Bioware to donate some "prize money". An incentive like that would keep players trying to get better and better at this game and as a direct effect they will play more, thus increasing the amount of microtransactions that EA can get from this = win-win.

The idea that has been posted on this forum a couple of times about different tournaments is a good one also, but it would have a lot more impact if it was an official tournament created and managed by Bioware themselves, again with some prize money distributed after ertain criterias.

Now you know what to do Annomander, make it happen!

Any future plat solos I attempt won't be on Giant, that's for sure, my FQE one will be the only one there (I did feel like I needed all the help I could get with her).

I really wanna do one on Dagger since that's my favorite map.

i was thinking about doing giant for my platinum solo since i dont play platinum at all.. but after getting stuck on various walls it became frustrating. so i picked the map that i used for my shadow gold solo. i decided to make it interesting by doing the ghost hazard. and when i got to wave 10 and failed i told myself i could succeed at this so i tried again the next day and i extracted. its all about what your comfortable with, let them do giant first to get a taste of what its like and then they can move on to other maps.

I like how you are complaining about people doing giant when that's the map you basically live on. And giant is getting a bit like fbw geth with how popular it is on solos.

It's why i've started doing unknown/unknown on my solos.

I got collectors on vancouver when I tried that class when I did unknown/unknown and died on wave 10.

And I just did dagger for a solo, do not play against geth on that map. Also the devices on dagger are some of the worst in the game.

I have no intention of making contributions to this elite group of Hall of Fame players 

Also, yes, I do most of my Gold solo videos on Giant Reapers. That is not because I want to solo for the challenge, it is because I want to compare things like different classes, weapons and equipment. In order for a comparison to be "fair" I at least need to keep the map and enemy the same.

Now I'm going to start doing Geth instead with a lot of different characters and weapons, haven't decided what map to do it on though. When I have done enough of them I will switch to another map and enemy again. Fact is, all of my solo videos that aren't on Giant are solo videos that I just played for fun without comparing things.

And you also know that I can indeed solo all enemy factions on all other maps, I just rage quit most of the times when I have to use my first medigel even if it's on wave 10 objective

Well I think the polularity of Giant can be explained by good 4-disable -device placement. It rarely screws you over compared to some other maps.
Personaly I think the 4-device in solo is almost as cheap as geth faction itself. You lose control for 10 seconds and can't even pop an ops pack if someone did not follow you out of the area during your distracion attempt.

Congrats dude!  How did you build him?  Re-phrase, did you bother with Havok Strike?

Havoc Strike is fun.  It would kill Husks and Cannibals in one shot.  I mostly used it to move around the map if I could or "teleport" to lone enemies, like Ravagers and Marauders to take them out.  The way it's spec'd also lets me stagger a Phantom with a Havoc Strike and  finish with the gun.
