I hadn't realized just how common those maps were until I went back through the list. While I won't necessarily forbid myself from using those maps in future solo attempts, I do think it's good to encourage variety on that front, it's needed.

And I see that SmashAdept spot is still not taken... come on, Condor/Collectors anyone?

Well, Reapers on Giant seems to be the worst offender ever. However, I figured a lot of the original maps like Reactor and Ghost are just as easy, but less popular.

Ghost Hazard was left in because the acid rain makes for a more challenging experience.

With 7 new weapons being added I also decided I would ban the 3 most common weapons, as there are plenty of new ones to choose from and many existing platinum viable weapons.

"Permitted" maps are...

Glacier

Glacier Hazard

Condor

Hydra

Jade

Goddess

London

Vancouver

Rio


Possibly also thinking about implementing a sub 60 minute time requirement, which arguably is pretty easy for most people to obtain,as a lot of entries are sub 60 minutes anyway.

Yea I was also thinking about that. 

So, In order to post any platinum solo after the 28th, do we have to follow those rules?, or just for the reckoning characters?

That would be good too, I think by now most people who solo are very capable of achieving that time, plus it encourages more aggressive gameplay, which is more entertaining to watch (if recorded).

I don't see the point in making those rules for the new DLC because it totally invalidates the whole point of this thread. This thread was created in order to see if all classes had been used to solo Platinum with, so with that in mind it really doesn't matter at all what map, enemy or weapon players use for their solo.

The new rules makes no sense to me, it is like saying you can't win the Super Bowl if you have Tom Brady or Peyton Manning as QB because it gets too easy. It is like saying that Calvin Johnson's record breaking season with reception yards this season won't count becuse he did a lot of them in their own stadium which he is used to play in or that he can't have the record because he did it with a team that he usually play with.

If you are going to have rules like that then you should have rules for every DLC and patch. Think about how many fewer players that could make a Gold or Platinum solo before they introduced armored compartments, responder loadout, survivor loadout or the fact that they increase medigels and ops packs from 5 to 6. Yet you have made no difference between those Platinum solos here in this thread, even though some were obviously "easier" than others.

I would like you to keep this thread without these new modifications. I rather suggest that you make a new thread with a "Platinum Solo Challenge" instead for the DLC. The fact is that this thread should recognize the first (or 3 first) time a player solo Platinum with a specific character regardless of map, enemy or weapon.

These rules only apply for the Reckoning characters.

All other combinations still qualify for non-Reckoning characters.

I may have missed a couple, but as you can see, more than 50% of solos were done on giant or giant hazard...

I hadn't anticipated people using so many reegars and soloing on giant so often.

The point of the thread ( I am the author ) was to try and collect videos or at least a record of all classes being solod with. However, it was largely devoid of variety.

Like I said, you are under no obligation to obey these rules: if you want to solo on giant with a reegar like everyone else has done, you are free to do that. However, you will not qualify for a place.

It's a hall of fame, not a hall of giant and reegar...

Only if you make is a new category without letting it impact on the "core" of this thread. For it to have a time limit like that is just stupid if you have it for all new entries into this thread. As long as the N7HQ says that you completed a Platinum solo then you have done it regardless of how long it took. You either manage to do it or you don't, there is no in between.

To start a new category though with a "speedrun solo" is a good idea. That means that the players at the top of the Hall of Fame doesn't have to be the first ones completing a Platinum solo with a specific character, but they are the fastest with it. You can narrow it down as much as you want regarding maps, enemies, weapons etc. but that would make for on huge database instead of just an easy to read thread on this forum.

Seeing as how people won't care about this game soon and that they won't be playing it more after they get tired of the new DLC I would say to just keep it simple.

I was the first one to post a 10 waves survived (GI) Platinum solo on this forum and even though it "should" be in the Hall of Fame I told you that I didn't want to be part of it. That means I have no personal advantage to gain from my suggestions here but instead I just want a thread that doesn't get out of hand and where you can't make comparisons between differenct classes.

No, I don't know what you mean. If you care enough, surely you will have no problem using a more challenging / interesting set up for a solo.

The "honourable mention" category is reserved for such instances as 10 waves medals, etc, on platinum; which i was prepared (in exceptional circumstances) to encompass the banned weapons / maps, providing its worth a mention.

A 60 minute solo on giant with a harrier is nothing special. A 35-40 minute solo on giant with a harrier, with 10 waves survived IS  worthy of mention.

I approve of the rules. Should the PC and Xbox SPECTRE group have an open door policy? No. In the same way Platinum solos should be distinguished ones..

And here I thought maybe someday some of us scrubs may attempt Platinum solo after Gold. Platinum solo can be pictured as climibing mount Everest. Thousands of people have scaled the mountain but each person that does definitely has a huge sense of accomplishment, photographs and (I don't know) certificate?

Saying that "You can't use the Geth Trooper & Acolyte" or other restrictions is liken to tell other mountaineers "You can't use this common path to scale Everest. Please go and trail blaze your own path k thanks"

So in essence actually this is just an exclusive club for certain people. Scrubs need not even attempt because "Overused kit/Map/Weapon" right?
