The variety thing is not a bad goal though, at least if you are trying to create a compilation of videos that would be interesting to watch.

Solo's are not really my thing, so no. I wouldn't see much issue using that great gun on multiple classes. His rules were introduced to encourage "variety" according to him not because of eas of use/difficulty (I do believe that factored into his decision making) I do think  the main reasoning was his own personal code of ethics on what is acceptable and balanced in this game. Why we are at it would should ban the entire Inf class, Geth Trooper, or any other classes that is high representation. His reasoning is bad.

so far i have only seen 2 people used the claymore, one was me with krosol, the other was batsent. If soloing is not your thing why bothered post here?

Claymore is somewhat punishing if you screw up, hence...

Maybe there should be a Claymore Hall of Fame.

Because you've created an artificial/arbitrary and frankly dumb barrier for potential soloers post reckoning DLC.

You should wipe it clean, otherwise the previous solos are meaningless according to your own rules and logic.

Whether I like to solo or not is irrelevant and if you think that this thread is the entire representation of solos and there has only been 2 claymore solos you are sadly mistaken.

I posted here to express my opinion on what I felt was a injustice to anyone who wanted to have a submission into this thread. I don't like the elitism that was shown in the changes that were made. Soloing in general is a just a test of time, patience and clever use of game mechanics.

Annomander why don't you learn to actually have a actually adult discussion. I never argued that you can do what you want with your thread but I did argue that you reasoning was bad. If you think that recorded solos give you enough data to make any informed opionion on the distrubtion of weapons used in a solo you are incorrect. So the claymore is a fewer than 5% what is the percentage of the 3 you banned or the claymore vs other weapons allowed.

Rules are there to force people to solo with variety, instead of using the same boring set up that everyone and their grandmother has solod with - if  they want to be included in the Reckoning Section.

The point of the Reckoning section was to make it extra challenging, as this is the end of the road as far as ME3MP goes.

If you have no interest in soloing, or you have no trouble soloing without using banned weapons / maps, then what is the issue? Huh?




I know of a grand total of 7 claymore platinum solos.

5 are listed in this thread, one other done by me and another listed by a player on BSN.

If you find hundreds of claymore platinum solos on BSN, or youtube, feel free to point them in my direction. (You won't because they don't exist). The claymore is extremely uncommon compared to the harrier for usage in platinum solos, and yes, I have data to back that up as I originally planned to include EVERY platinum solo, however, I decided to cut it down to 3 per class as it was too much data. I still maintain a spreadsheet on my computer with platinum solos as and when I see them which now has many, many more entries than this thread, and shows that almost 90% of all solos used the harrier, the acolyte or the reegar...

Again, if you have a problem with the rules, feel free to not obey them. However, I maintain that to be included in the Reckoning solo section, you have to rise to the challenge presented.

Yeah been enjoying the ClaymoreNaut but he trivialises Phantoms, which are a huge problem on-host for a Claymore user.

Gotta give props to Annomander, only he could be so deluded by elitism that he immediately jumps to the conclusion that, anyone who takes offense at his rules are noobs. Seriously, most of us don't solo simply because it's boring. It's a test of patience more than anything else. The Hall of Fame is cheap gimmick now used by players like yourself for a quick e-peen. You added the rules to set yourself, your thread and fellow Soloist above anyone else who may not have soloed and may have wanted to contribute. Now your saying that people who are already in your hall of fame or could have been in it had you not derped the rules are not allowed to and you are now just outright insulting the players who did use the Harrier (yes, I did but I would've used the PPR if it weren't for the Drell Beam Bug and it was the Scorpion getting most of the excercise anyways...) by saying they aren't good enough for your HoF because they used a certain weapon. Everyone knows weapons don't neccessarily help the player in solos. Sure a Harrier will be significantly quicker than an Avenger but you could still do it, if you want to waste 150 minutes of your time...

Map-wise I didn't see very many Reactor, White or Ghost runs proportional to Giant. In fact they are more in the region of Firebase Vancouver, an unbanned map. The major thing with soloing is finding a good circuit you can run around the map following. So yes, maybe banning Giant MIGHT root out the actual soloers from those just following leads but honestly? If people can find it, then other people can... So I highly doubt it. It would make videos more exciting and yes Hydra/Jade/Goddess runs likely would deserve a place in the Hall of Fame over a Giant Run, but I don't see Cain, Link or yourself running Firebase Goddess on your Hall of Fame... Why is that? Could it possibly be that even you guys (soloists at heart) who so advocate these rules haven't even done the runs yourselves? You want variety your going the wrong way about it. Map, Weapon, Enemy it's all just a game of patience once you get a strategy going and hoping you don't get Wallhacked by a Banshee...

So yeah, Bechter takes offense, hell I take offense at these rules. Not because we like solos but because it's clear that reules are specifically designed to keep peope out of the Hall. You, Cain and Link started somewhere you know... And it wasn't against Collectors on Condor using a Phaeston..

Quick statistics: 55 reapers solos, 32 cerberus solos, 10 geth solos and 13 collectors solo. Might be off by one or two.

Collectors are bugged as f*ck. It's sensible to not solo against enemies that can one shot you behind soft cover.

You end up fighting every enemy type anyway when versus reapers, cerberus, etc.

Geth aren't popular because of how much stun lock they used to have. In terms of balance, reapers and cerberus are the most balanced factions (maybe geth too now...?) but collectors are still stupidly hard to solo against thanks to soft cover providing little or no benefit versus praetorians.

I decided not to ban any faction, as the map choice matters a lot more than the faction when it comes to soloing.
