Blah, blah, blah -- my original post.

It is on easy.

In that case, let me say this:
First of all, I understand your frustration with being suck in a situation that you feel like can't get out of.  Being frustrated probably isn't helping you acheive your goals and, naturally, that supersucks.

Second, the game is designed to give you options.  Certain skills can certainly help you achieve your goals where you could not otherwise acomplish a certain task - (like lockpicking) - but every quest, including Captured! can usually be completed a number of ways both for the sake of allowing you to pick your own style of gameplay, and to force your character into making im/moral choices.

Third, without knowing exactly how you've got your characters leveled up, there's not much that anyone can really do to advise you unless you're more specific about what you're working with.

Lastly, my actual advice for you on what you should do without resorting to starting from scratch:
Since you don't have the pursuasion check to get out with no blood, it sounds like you're going to have to fight your way out.  Make use of your quick save.  Before you open a door or enter a room, quick save to be safe, so that you don't have to start from the beginning each time you fall.  PAUSE frequently to tactically assess the situation.  You seem to wish there was a cheat code that could help, and that's the glory of a walkthrough.  On a game like DA:O, walkthroughs are your cheat codes, so here's one just for you:

goodness, you do seem to get frustrated easily if things don't go as planned. Your other threads are similar in tone and frustration. First and foremost, just remember this is a game, not some sort of test or competition. So enjoy it. When I have been foiled in something in this game (by that I mean I got myself and or my party killed, which happened often enough in my initial play-through), I learned from it.

As for Fort Drakon, the first time, I really didn't even think twice about trying to escape myself and it was easy. Fake sick, overcome the guard, grab your stuff from the nearby chest. Now, think... instead of fighting your way out, peak around. Hey look - guard uniforms! They make a good disguise... talk to other NPCs while they think you are some noob recruit. It's laid out pretty simply. If you opt to have someone rescue you, look around a bit - try and finesse your way further in without engaging anyone in a fight... and gee, those ballistas might come in handy for a diversion... Take your time and have fun with it, don't get so frustrated and give up so easily.

Just learn to be a bit more patient, or as someone said, get a walk-through and work with that. You are going to be really frustrated in the Final Onslaught, I suspect. One tip... do pay attention to the fact that you have allies to call on...

Aye, if one thing doesn't work try a different path. And yes pick up your stuff in the box (armour, weapons etc.) just a few paces away from your cell.
By the way isn't the jailbreak option where you disguise as guards a good coercion skill still needed ? I can't remember sine I hardly do it that way anymore (relying on teammembers to come and rescue me and Alistaire nowadays).
The game is really fun Jallard and worth your money, but like many people here stated you may have build up you characters the wrong way (my first playthrough didn't went really well either but I kept perservering and managed to pull it of, I just went rampant through the whole fort like a neanderthal wich isn't exactly how you are supposed to be playing).
The game is simply fun, challenging (although it can border to frustration sometimes I admit).
Don't give up.  Posted Image

Or just do like I did and kill 'em all.  Couslands don't take kindly to having their family slaughtered and then getting thrown in jail to await torture and execution.  Every dead guard was one more blow against Loghain.

I had Alistair and my rogue, it really wasn't a problem getting out.  I was kind of disappointed at how easy it was, actually.

Hehe I see you went the neanderthal way as well Creature 1 Posted Image
It wasn't that easy but neither was it hard for me. But at least you got a good reason as being as Cousland Posted Image
There is already enough fighting in the game and giving these 2 options to break out of jail is a stroke of genius in an already excellent game by the wizards of Bioware.

My characters tend towards Neanderthalism.

Adelle: Killed Cauthrien and all her friends, might have broken out sneakily if arrested. On the other hand, she's my most Good character, so the fact that they torture people in the prison might cause her to break out the local weather anomalies.
Jack: Killed Cauthrien, then killed everyone.
Blair: Will attempt to kill Cauthrien and then kill everyone.
Lilah: Will kill everyone with extreme prejudice. And then probably dismember them.

Hehe I finally decided to kill her as well (though I secretly do feel sorry for Cauthrien..She's just erhm...misunderstood). I usually play the Fort Drakon thing as standard now but when I get at the Landsmeet and she bars my way then I try to bully her around (i'm tired of persuading my way from her). If that doesn't work...She's gonna die.

Have done with certain characters, but it's also entertaining to finesse your way out.  But the best is pairing up different party members to come in and "rescue" you.  Ohgren and Morrigan make a good team.  NOT. :D

You know I keep hearing how funny the dialogue during the rescue/escape quest is.

It's a shame that I'll never experience it.

How anyone can resist the urge to kill a Deus Ex Machina is beyond me.

Well usually deus ex machina show up in plots to help the character, not kill it.  Cauthrien isn't really an enemy so much as a misguided follower of Loghain.  I think the surrender option should have a greator advantage in the landsmeet however or something that makes it more worthwhile.  Getting the Summer Sword is reason enough to kill her, weather or not she's a machine of the gods.
