Forgot to mention, sometimes I have to check to make sure it is Nightmare... It is soooo much easier than Hard that I really don't know how come... Only that in my Hard run I had not my CE yet, no bonus DLC either... I got it right at the end of the run and waited to install it after I finished the first run. I hadn't patched the game either before I installed the CE. (I was using a freaking image cuz EA messed up release date here and thus my pre-order was 15 days delayed compared to int'l release, when I got it.)
Anyway, something feels wrong in this Nightmare.. either DLC items or patch or there is indeed some bug that makes it easier than Hard... heh ... I was used to getting my azz handed out to me in a plate in my first run... quite a difference from this one.

Grats on using an ability that only does that kind of damage against level 1 targets with a 60 second cooldown.
where are you fighting level 1 targets at level 21?

Ostagar. If they are on a console they're proably using the darkspawn blood glitch.

This was one of my toughest fights in my first playthrough, Hard diff., with my 2 hander, Alistair, Morrigan and Leliana. I think I needed over 10 reloads to get past it and very likely with 2 or 3 party members dead too.
Now this is my movie of the same battle in Nightmare diff, with the same 2 hander recreated, Alistair, Sten (3 melee chars) plus Leliana whom turns also to melee on her own, sometimes, because I let her. (she has no melee talents though, besides the first one as an Assassin which is pretty much spell like)
It took me 1 attempt, less than 1:30 minutes fight, very little pausing, no potion used, no fallen companion and well, I am proud of it but I still fear that NM might indeed be affected by something which is making it way easier than originally planned. I don't think I became that much of an "elite" player, although I really would like to think so. Was I such a noob then and got to average levels or did I improve that much? Will only items make this much difference? Does anyone knows for sure if NM is bugged? I hope it's not!
Differences between the same fights in both diffs. (Like I said in above posts)
Hard
- (my pre-order would take 15 more days to arrive when I started playing so...) No C.E. items or DLC's Items - Plain Vanilla game items - Tactics disabled on all NPC's but a few auto buffs - no respec on NPCs and very much of a trial/error attempt on main char. No traps!
Nightmare
- Full C.E. items and bonus DLC's items (WK & SP) - respec mod used on NPCs, Trailer Edition Mod armor for Leliana only (cuz of the looks) all tactics slots enabled and carefully set in all NPCs, not only those in the current party. (I use them all for my party dialogue movies and sometimes combat too). Traps, traps and more Traps!!!
Video is still being processed by YouTube... quality will improve to HD soon.
