I was about  to get the dlc that connects ME2 with ME3.
I looked for it on Origin. Nothing there.
Then I was redirected to the official dlc page, had to register ME2.
Now I have to load my account with some sort of points that I only need one time and click through thousand pages of confirmation and instructions. I stopped then at one point.
Why does it have to be such a hassle??
Why can't I just buy the DLC on Origin for a few bucks without loading my account with weird points and just be done with it??
Sorry but I feel this all is just a big mess with the thousands of services that you have to use to play one damn game.

I take it you are talking about the Arrival DLC for ME 2?

Not sure what the issue is.

The issue is, that it is just one hell of a mess and cumbersome³ to obtain game content that I could just purchase on Origin with a few clicks.

Also, why obscuring the price of a DLC with "Bioware Points"? Does not work with me, first thing I do is looking up the prices and converting them. And I don't want to add points, because then you have left overs. They just try to nickel and dime here and to me stuff like this is is not honest.

Take an example on Steam. All the DLC listed for one game on one page and I can buy them through the normal shop interface. No need to click through multiple websites, logins etc just to buy something.

And yeah, they are old games but they should still change it and just let me buy it on Origin without Bioware Points and all that BS.

Completely agree, I tried to buy Dragon Age 2 DLC and was really confused to discover it is not even available for purchase anywhere on the Origin store!

Pre-ordered DA2 on Steam and have been considering buying Legacy DLC or Mark of the Assassin, since last year; however, despite waiting, they have never become available on Steam.

First I contacted the Origin tech support and was told I should use my Steam product key to download the game via Origin, and then I could click "shop for add-ons." I did so; however, even after downloading DA2 again, I still cannot buy any of the DLC on Origin. There is no "shop for add ons" button for DA2.

I contacted Origin tech support again and was told I needed to go to social.bioware.com to purchase DLC for this game. I didn't see any convenient store front to puchase the DLC, but was instructed to select the "Games" drop down menu, then DA2, then Official DLC.

Then I learned that you can't simply buy the DLC directly using your credit card. Instead, you must buy 1600 Bioware points and if you buy something you will end up with leftover points.

The entire experience was very frustrating and left me with no further interest in attempting to buy this DLC. If you make it available on Origin in the future to buy directly using a credit card, I would certainly consider it, but I have no interest in purchasing "Bioware points." The Origin tech support rep recommended buying the DLC at Wal-mart, but I don't have any optical disc drive in my laptop, so I can only buy digital downloads.

It's difficult to understand the reasoning behind why EA has made it so complicated for PC users to buy the DA2 DLC. Perhaps the process is more simple for people who own the Xbox or PS3 versions.

In comparison, buying DLC on Steam is a completely hassle-free experience. It's very easy to find any DLC you are looking for, click once to add to cart and then check out. And the prices are in dollars, not "points." Also there are freqently discount sales for DLC as much as 50% or 75% off MSRP. I don't think the DA2 DLC has ever been on sale, even though we are approaching 2 years after the game's release date.
