I'm still playing Assassin's Creed 3, but at the moment my vote goes to Sleeping Dogs.

I would have to say Halo 4. Aside from a few balance issues in the MP (most of which have been fixed already), it's easily my favorite game this year.

Honorable mentions: Forza Horizon, XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

Both personal and based on the VGA nominations: Mass Effect 3 or The Walking Dead.

Dishonored was a great game but far from GOTY worthy. No point in picking any first-person shooters too because while I love Halo 4 and will likely love Far Cry 3, they belong and will dominate, more or less, the shooter categories.

I don't want to say Halo 4 because its just more Halo. But nothing else I've played even comes close to it, except The Witcher 2 which I liked even more but its just a PC port.

Still too early. I haven't played FC3 yet. Currently though, I'd list them in this order for me:

1. ME3
2. Walking Dead
3. Dragon's Dogma(probably most underrated)
4. Borderlands 2
5. XCOM

Still have a few games I want to play. Dishonored and Hitman are up there.

FC3 looks like it will give me a lot to think about ...

Can I put DayZ on this list? Because it would be near the top despite being a mod. I'll give my final vote when the new year starts...

XCOM is the best game released this year I've played personally.

I haven't got to play Walking Dead, Borderlands 2 or Dishonored. AC3 was weak I thought outside of the very nice ship battles.
