My brother just finished the game

I'm glad for him, and the fact that he played EC Omega AND Leviathan before finishing the game may have had its impact, but still, I feel a bit sorry for myself and my game experience. I rarely immersed myself like in Mass Effect series, and I felt betrayed at the ending, like many here at BSN.
Am I alone having a friend/relative absolutely loving the game and unable to express themselves without feeling stupid?

I don't know anyone personally who liked it. They all thought it was garbage.
There is no direct correlation between age or anything else that determines why someone likes or dislikes and the endings, least none that I've seen. Playing the EC gives emotional closure and answers a few questions that the original ending didn't provide, that's enough for some to enjoy it.Pantanplan wrote...
How old is your brother? I think older people would react more positively to the ending than younger people would.

I'm 24 years old and have had plenty experience with Sci-Fi and stories that tell a proper narrative in general. The ending was awful, and that has nothing to do with my age or maturity level.

One of my closer friends is 60, and she hates the endings at least almost as much as I do. That's a 40 year age difference.
Still, how old is the guy?

Of course. I never wanted to imply that you're immature. I hate the ending as well, don't worry.Mdoggy1214 wrote...

I haven't seen any evidence that age per se has anything to do with liking or disliking the endings. Though there does seem to be an effect from political views; conservatives often seem to really hate them. But since most of us don't bother to talk about such things here, my sample size is lousy.
Shhh! If you talk about politics, Ninja Stan will come in here and lock this thread. Because remember, mention of the 'P' word, even in OT, is against the rules and results in a certain line ending.

That was pretty much my first suspicion when I read that he liked it.
People are not going to like me saying this, but IMO, many discontented fans made up their minds since March... after completing the game, and then after hearing EC would not (completely) change the endings. Put the Leviathan mission and EC in main game, and I think the catalyst is not even half as reviled as he is now. At worst, he's a Cerberus/TIM-caliber annoyance.
People can deny that all they want and insist it would make no difference. Don't care. I'll take an example from a fresh set of eyes looking at the game, not a pair firmly covered by "The Ending Sucks" specs.

the problem is, that i have to find an answer to a new question - and the endings generated a lot of them.

And I know quite a few people on both sides of the fence, all of them being at least moderately intelligent, attentive people and most who have played all three games. Funny how opinions work outside of this bitter little microcosm.

we all have other perspectives - my friends did not like the endings (all of them). among them smart and simple people - scientists and workers. none of them liked it.
we all live in different microcosms and we come to this one, to argue about it.
the truth is somewhere in the middle - if there is a truth at all.

With the EC I can accept the ending, but I certainly wouldn't call it good. It was lacking in so many wasy that've mentioned before. It simply needed more.

Not the franchise itself, but the current version of the Dallas Cowboys? Yeah, **** 'em.
