I replayed DAO and DA2 a number of times. Is it just a matter of liking the games or is there someting else?

#1 Reason - Because I like them.
Other reasons - Multiple endings, different paths/decisions, worthy new game plus modes, multiple player characters.

Because it bores me. Same reason I rarely reread books and hardly ever rewatch movies.

Because I like that certain game so much?

Might have something to do with me enjoying them a great deal

I generally replay games to see another story or play as another character or if I'm trying to beat it on a higher difficulty. once I've gotten all I can out of the game I trade it in unless it's a special type of game like Civ.

If I like it I'll replay it. Of course my enjoyment level is affected by several factors of the game itself, but it's generally the same answer everytime. You like it, you play it again.

There are many factors that would make me want to replay a game. Liking it enough to warrant wanting to play through it again is an obvious one but there can be other incentives, like a new game+ feature that let's me carry stuff over, some things being possible on a second playthrough that aren't possible the first time around, the challenge factor if a game has adjustable difficulty modes and sometimes it just isn't possible to get the most out of a game in one run through. All of these together plus more is what helps decide a games replayability factor for me

I've replayed DA:O more times than I can count.
In addition to enjoying the game, it's also a matter of having playthroughs that reflect various decisions and world states.
I haven't played DA2 quite as many times as I have DA:O, but my reasons for replaying are essentially the same.

Mostly, to re-experience conversations or scenes that I really enjoyed. Sometimes I'll play to try out an option I didn't already take, but I'm not exactly completionist (except for when it comes to loot >_>), so that's generally only when I didn't like the result I got before, but didn't not like it enough to reload and redo on my first playthrough. Usually, after my first playthrough, I make a second playthrough and make a save just before my favourite bits, so I can load up and see them again whenever I want, like putting a bookmark in my favourite parts of a book. In DA:O, I replayed an extra time, because I wanted to try a couple other origins, and see different options at the end of the game.
Occasionally I just love a game enough that I replay it again and again because I love the whole thing that much. My record is 11 complete times through one game, along with many, many times replaying short bits of it.

Initially I replay games to experience the multiple paths or events that I may have missed on the first playthrough.
Eventually, though, I replay games to re-experience the feeling I got from the game. Its like re-reading a book.

Because I'm such an idiot that I must have missed something important/interesting.
Or the game was just so awesome that I had to play it again.

Good question.
Uh, any game besides BW games, I pretty much never replay. Once is all. Maybe twice. But that's a big maybe. I also have a tendency to trade those games in--even when I enjoy them.
BW games though are different for me. They're the only games I keep. The absolute only ones. Mainly because I they have replay value to me. That being things like varying content.
DAO had so many different ways you could play. class. Origin. Romance. End choices that weren't just reload and see something different, but seemed to have a more cumulative path.
BW games in general--not just DAO. Put that together with some fun combat and even better.
Heck, banter, too. I'll replay just to hear different banter. Take different NPC's according to my class.
Most games are very straight forward. Once you've seen it, you've seen it. BW games I'm always finding something new. Although it can be minute, it's still fun.
Also trying to get all the npc's out alive. If the story permits.
All in all I think DAO did the variety thing the best. And I'm not all nostalgic for DAO, but they mixed it up very well in that game as far as how things could turn out.

Because I thought that they were enjoyable enough to do so and possibly because there was a great enough variety that I anticipated that the experience would be substantively different?
