Do I seriously have to choose between these 2 fanatics?
I don't see why I'm being forced going for that "mages on the loose" quest, being a mage myself on top of it, especially after killing some templars to free a few apostats in Act II.
I already feel like I started to loose my interest for that kindergarden story in the middle of Act II anyway...
Now I don't even know why I should keep playing that game, jumping from one boring quest N° 284B to the next...
Just because I bought it?
That would be my first Bioware desertion...

I believe I should side with the mages, but it's like seeing life in black and white only, with nothing in between.
Then why going for the "on the loose" quest? And I'm not even fond of them either...

Maybe it gets better further on, with more options.
But, still...
The magic is gone.
Especially right after having played DA:Origins.
I only wish it would be the other way around...

I suppose I have been spoiled by Bioware for too many years... to allow anything less go through. DA II is, technically, visually, a beautiful game, but the storyline...

One "who cares" quest after another "I don't" one, with just some boom-boom in between.
Same areas being re-used over and over.
What a bore.
It's got something to do with the fact having everything being centered around the same old so well known city, when DA:O was all about traveling and exploring.
What a pity, but I owe Bioware more that that, so...

Agreed. After hearing this story, the Seeker should reach the conclusion that the Champion is useless to her. He couldn't build alliances. He couldn't stop battles. All he could do was participate in a war that was apparently going to happen anyway.

I just finished playing Dragon Age II only an hour ago, and I must say: I found it a thousand times more enjoyable than Origins (II has it's faults however). It took be three months of on and off playing and restarting to reach the end of Origins? II? I played through to the end in two days on almost non-stop play.

I enjoy the more small scale plots, how it gives way more focus on characters. Not every threat can be some over-arching world destroyer. I found II's plot pretty good, and I honestly liked how they portrayed the conflict evenly on both sides.

The both sides final choice is quite well handled, you're right, even if it doesn't seem so at first. I remember being very unhappy about it when I first thought it was meant to be final... without having all the informations yet...
But, being allowed to keep choosing between mages and templars quite far deep into the story made it a true choice, like in real life:
choosing between two sides you both could choose.
A true choice.
I went for the mages, only after a lot of thinking, and only because there is one thing I could never tolerate:
turning a human brain off.

I went for the Templars despite playing as a mage. I think the whole blood magic thing that is thrown in your face (every apostate is pretty much a blood mage and it doesn't really help their case) and Anders, stupid whiney I got to kill him Anders really just pushed me over the edge.
