Just started the game, and I hope for the least information that will answer my question.

For the maximum reward I am supposed to get 18 units of gall for the Chanter's board.  I have 13.  In Redcliffe castle I killed the demon.  There were enough animated corpses to supply five more, but no gall was dropped.  Furthermore, there is no mention of killing the demon in the journal, though her name showed in orange (as a boss?).

I do not have the urn of ashes.

Should I

a) Assume there is a bug and turn in the gall I have,

Look for something more in the castle, or

c) just continue the quest?

You can't get it all there. There is more gall available when pursuing other quest lines in the campaign. But you'll have to be very careful not to go to the mages collective for ANY rewards until you've gotten all 18. Or they take the lower number.



Not worth it, imo, the amount of extra money is not much.

Thank you. I was mainly worried there might be a bug, since the final fight was a logical place to drop the rest of it.



I will probably just turn it in, then, rather than go to a lot of trouble for a little more gold.

The "practical" warden who doesn't make a side trip should get those 18 galls in Redcliffe Castle. The other one has them when he returns.

I would suggest not to turn in till you have 18. You can accept further quests from the board anyway. Quest items don't take inventory space. You will get the remaining corpse galls along the way as you continue in (small spoiler warning)

i have a question for you guys, although i may need to open a new thread...



i get the feeling that sometimes when i turn in 2 quests at the same time to the same person i only get the reward for one of them, yet both are completed. can anyone confirm this

You definately get a cumulative reward. They don't give much coin to begin with, so don't expect much more than 4-6g for multiple turnins

The rewards are successive but since each reward overwrites the last in the heads up display it only looks like you're getting one. If you check your inventory before and after you should have received the correct amount of gold and XP.
