HELL yes! Valkyrie buff! Now I can take my Valkyrie V out of the closet!

its been out that long?

Sadly so - saw it every week but one since its implementation, and every time I tried to convince myself it would soon be due for a hilarious buff which would make me a very lucky salarian. Then I cried because I didn't get a hurricane. Anyway, now I can rejoice.

i am totes jells of ur Valkrie. My Sandy IX is getting old cuz she's all I ever use! Want to try out that gun!

Enjoy the anticipation while it lasts - by wave 2 with it you will wish your rad little stormmachine was by your side.

...I probably shouldn't say that anymore, since tomorrow it's gonna be all "Trololol, teh noob said Valkyrie is bad, I always knew it rockz!" and whatnot. =]

Definitely hope it'll be worth the last 5 weeks by then!

We also have a small Valkyrie buff this week, but just to warn everyone we also have a small nerf to the Acolyte and one to the Stimulant Pack power since after some testing and feedback we've concluded that they are too powerful.

On the Acolyte: Thank you for confirming my beliefs that it's too powerful. Halving base damage but doubling shields/barriers damage would be the route I'd take, but even then... eh...

On Stimulant Pack: I just hope the Havoc's HS buff compensates ;) Dat Stim Pack really was something. Maybe touch the weapon damage bonus too? As it stands he's basically a Vanguard, so seeing an emphasis on weapon use would be nice.

Sadly, we can't just go back to a charging Acolyte, like it used to be, can we?

Hope they don't pillage stim pack too much for the havok's sake. Honestly 2k shields instead of 4k fully spec'd would be more balanced than the current "I win button" it is now.

Acolyte is just plain overpowered, a slower RoF or significant damage nerf is in order.

We don't want to hit the Havoc too hard so we're compensating by buffing Havoc Strike.

Good to hear, but if we aren't talking 50% or more of a damage buff or significantly more invulnerability frames havok strike will still be very lack luster (and more suicidal then ever).

Rarely ever use either character so it makes little difference to me in the end, very excited about the acolyte nerf, it was getting a little out of control that nearly every class and every kit was most efficient when using it.

You have to be kidding about how OP you think the acolyte is.... It's barely used on xbox by anyone I play with except me. Some other good players have it as a sidearm.

50% damage buff really? They can't change invincibility frames with balance changes I don't think. It can't have more. They last as long as the animation which is fairly long. I'd barely call it suicidal with a stimpacks too.

They can't mess with the defence modifiers in a weekly balance change as far as I know, since those values are nowhere to be found in the Coalesced file.

For Havoc Strike, there is a hidden 50% damage reduction for 4 seconds that they could tweak(Biotic Charge has this as well). Either way, it is nice to see them giving him compensation for the reduction in Stim Packs.

Lol at havoc strike buffs, HS + instant backdash is so nigh-invulnerable I can literally troll the hell out of 3 dragoons + 1 phantom by just doing it over and over till they are all dead....this should be good ;P

Those changes sound good (weapon ones)

Not sure if i like the sound of having stimpacks nerfed though. Maybe if they only give you 75% shields back instead of 100% that would be reasonable.

But if they're nerfed to the point where stimpacks are made useless (a la Krysae) then i doubt i'll be playing Turians very often.

Characters which i now avoid after being broken (nerfed):-

1) Both Phoenix classes - can no longer defend themselves with Smash and they are super squishy + have bad weapon damage even after you spec all weapons damage evo's

2) Shadow with melee build. She just gets b*tchslapped due to lack of SS invulnerability frames + she cannot SS Atlas' or Scions due to bug

3) Paladin - off host, his omni-shield passes directly through enemies and causes no damage 75% of the time. Also off-host his ED extra shields evolution often doesn't work either.

4) Human Adept - Shockwave is bugged on PC when you go radius evolution

Meh...I barely use the new Turians or acolyte so no problem. I'm very surprised the Saber is getting buffed because it's already a beast(but I certainly won't complain).

No complaints here. When they buffed the Mattock months ago, I was pleasantly surprised because, heck, I was already happy with it before. Then they went and buffed the original Turians' health/shields and emcumbrence not that long after, and that was also awesome and unexpected. Actually sent BioWare cookies after that one, LOL. Image IPB And then they got buffed again in their racial passive.

So, yeah, bring on the Saber buffs, boys. My body is ready. Image IPB

I hope the acolyte nerf isn't so bad that we can;t one shot phantom barriers. Would prefer a RoF nerf instead of a damage nerf.

Think about what you just said.  You honestly think one of the lightest guns in the game should be able to one shot a Phantom's barriers?  On builds that aren't even specced for weapon damage?  Seriously?

It was meant to deal with shielded humanoid target's defenses. So yes

Should it? I don't know if I care. I don't enjoy fighting Phantoms, does anyone? Why can't I have a gun that has the same effect as their palm blasts? If we are concerned with enemies being too easy then why aren't we buffing Guardians? They exist purely for easy headshots.

The Acolyte really just needs the charging mechanic back. Lots of people thought it was a bad gun before it was removed. I remember a Stardusk thread about it, if I am remembering correctly.

I thought a decent fix would be to make the gun nearly useless against health. I've never needed it to kill mooks but that's what it does. The gun doesn't need to fire any slower than it already does, the Krysae is barely useable because of this.

It was a bad gun with charging... so add the charging back? I don't read you.

I swear, 95% of BSN posters have absolutely zero understanding of game balance and zero appreciation for its value in terms of making games genuinely good.
