Hi there everyone,

Here's something I've been brainstorming over the last few weeks as the release of Omega slowly came to be released, taking inspiration from the lore and several ideas I have seen floating around these forums as well as my own, I decided to share what I think would be the most pleasing and achievable result for a pack of DLC.

The pack would feature 6 new character kits, 3 new character models, 2 new maps and 4 new weapons.

(I'm not SUPER knowlegable to powers so if anyone has any corrections/suggestions/ideas feel free to share!)
I hope Bioware does something similar and I HOPE to God that they give us at least one more pack of DLC before calling it finished, we really need it!
Anyway, here it is:

CHARACTER KITS

 Female Turian Cabal Adept

- Biotic Protector
- Singularity
- Biotic Orbs
- Turian Outcast
- Fitness

Female Turian Talon Vanguard

- Biotic Charge
- Flare
- Lash/Throw
- Turian Outcast
- Fitness

Posted Image

Notes:

Flare would need to be nerfed with either weakened power or an even longer cooldown period.

Both Female Turians would be able to use the Biotic Dash similar to all Asari characters.

Recycles a retextured and colourable version of Nyreen Kandros's armoured model.
(With different patterns changing the face paint.)

Salarian STG Operative Soldier

- Cryo Grenade (Similar to Inferno Grenade but with Cryo properties.)
- Defense Matrix
- Concussive Shot
- STG Agent
- Fitness

Salarian STG Officer Sentinel

- Tech Armour
- Surge Radiator (Works like Annihilation Field but sets up Tech Bursts instead of Biotic Detonations.)
- Overload
- STG Agent
- Fitness

Posted Image

Notes:

Recycles the model of the Helmeted Salarian Eclipse Gang Mercenary featuring colourable textures and removed iconography.

If not feasable/possible recycling the standard Salarian model would be accepted somewhat.

Ex-Cerberus Pathfinder Infiltrator

- Tactical Cloak
- Assassination (Power from ME1)
- Flashbang Grenade (Power from ME1)
- Nemesis Augmentation
- Fitness

Ex-Cerberus Annihilator Engineer

- Artilery Platform (Set up like Supply Beacon, features a chain gun and can be upgraded with either Cryo or Incendiary ammo.)
- Incinerate
- Cryo Blast
- Ajax Augmentation
- Fitness

Posted Image

Either recycle the existing Phoenix Armour model or retexture the Cerberus Armour that Commander Shepard can obtain and use in the SP Story Mode for it be recolourable. (Also make sure the face is hidden through the visor.)

MAPS

Deep in the mining refinery of Omega, the various levels of platforms, catwalks and conveyor belts will provide an open and challenging area for players. Minecarts with glowing ores of Element Zero are scattered through the combat zones.

Updates

EDIT 04/12: Changed the name for more "Re-ness" :P

EDIT 04/12: Tweaked the Turian Cabal Adept and Talon Vanguard swapping powers to ensure that the Talon cannot detonate her own Biotic Explosions.
Along with including Biotic Dash.
Modified the Salarian STG Soldier to make him more "Soldier-like" with his powers and gave the Sentinel Surge Radiator and Overload so he can detonate his own Tech Bursts similar to the Biotics of a N7 Fury Adept.

EDIT 04/12/12: Going to get a signature banner made soon for people to show their support!

EDIT 04/12/12:  Page  Banner is up!

EDIT 08/12/12: Tweaked the names of the Salarians, Operative = Soldier and Officer = Sentinel.

EDIT 08/12/12: Signature Banners are up! Support Redemption!

EDIT 10/12/12: New Renders of the character kits! Many thanks to Soja57!

EDIT 30/01/13: Tweaked Pathfinder and Operative's powers.

I really like the ideas for surge radiator and artillery platform. I would really like to see them incoporate it. Also i feel that firebase underworld should have a different picture. other than that, good job mate.

Rebellion was probably the least interesting of all the DLCs so far, and recycled character models among only 6 kits probably had something to do with that. Nyreen has multiple character models. Use another for her Adept kit. There are many Human models to choose from. The only ones who have an excuse for the recycled models would be the Salarians. The model you chose for them is one I've never seen in-game. However, they being the only Council species with only two kits and probably the only race left out of Retaliation, deserve better treatment than the "weekly character special".

Edit: Also, I just read the rest, and the male Pathfinder Infiltrator has Phantom/Nemesis training...? There's a few more inconsistencies like this, so I'll just post some suggestions:

- Military Training -----> Turian Cabal/Talon Mercenary (Respectively).

- STG Agent ----> STG Operative (this is the standard name for the existing Salarians. Unless their passives are different, I see no reason to change them now).

- The Soldier class is usually a pure Combat ability class. Granted, Retaliation kind of hammered the last nail in that coffin, but a tech ability like Surge Radiator would be better suited for the Salarian Sentinel. Replace Tech Armor with Surge Radiator.

- Ballistic Blades on a Salarian? Just...doesn't seem right. A low-tech, almost primal ability on one of the Council's most technologically advanced species? Tech should be where Salarians shine. Not brute force, which is what this ability calls to mind. Better yet, replace Ballistic Blades with Surge Radiator.

Executioner?! I didn't know they also made Blood pack pistol..

And female turian looks kind of weird... Her neck is just.. too thin.
Her head and neck looks like a skinny featherless bird or an ant.

Anyway, nice DLC idea.

I think the Turians were designed with "Avian apex predator" in mind. I read that somewhere. Or rather, I watched a video documentary of how each species was created, and what they were designed after. Interestingly enough, I believe Krogan were designed from a species of bat.

If I may make a suggestion: (can also be changed to an Ex-Cerberus)
Alliance Ranger, Sentinel-
Energy Drain
Salvo (Biotic Orb, but no cooldown bonus per orb and 1/2 the cooldown and more damage)
Reave
Alliance Ranger
Fitness

Kadian Alenko's armor from SP

I posted this in another thread:

KR4U55 wrote...

Turian Cabal Vanguard (Female would be fun, but I'm fine with boring old Male)
750 Health/Shields
Biotic Charge
Barrier
Shockwave? I thought about powers that would make her/him OP, like Biotic Orbs, Reave, Warp or Anihilation Field.
Same as Armiger or just Turian passive, but with shotguns instead of assault rifles.
Fitness

Biotic Dash (I mean, if turian military gives Armiger Legion jetpacks for mobility, why turian Vanguards wouldn't learn how to dash?)
I was thinking about the old sentinel heavy melee, the one that hits with both hands forward at the same time, but with purple biotic balls.

I wanted to create something in between the tank-iness of the Krogan and Batarian, and the agility of the Human, Asari and Drell. Barrier limits how much s/he can charge, but improves survability. Biotic dash is kind of a must-have, since s/he'll be less tanky as the Krogan and the Batarian.

Feel free to change anything

Rate and comment plzzz!

I'd like to have Reave in a Vanguard (oh God knows how much), but a Vanguard able to detonate his biotic explotions every 3 seconds would be too OP. I haven't played Omega yet, so I don't know how Flare works, but it seems, from the description from the wiki, that it's more relateble to an Adept.

The thing is, making entirely new models is tough/expensive/long work.
There's the initial concept stage, roughing out and creating the model, fixing bugs like removing vetices and hidden faces, UV mapping, Texturing, Normal mapping, then it's making the skins customisable and onto Rigging.
That's a lot of work when they could just bring in an existing skin and just retexture them so they can be coloured like the have in pretty much every DLC so far.
(BTW in Rebellion we did have an all new model for the Ex-Cerberus before they turned him into the Dragoon.)

And I had the idea of giving the Cabal Adept Nyreen's Hooded outfit but I felt that was too unique to her. So just retexturing it for her would just make it look too similar to Nyreen.
The armour is just fine and it's less work to do.

Yeah, I have to agree with you on a lot of points there.
I was thinking about changing both of the Turians to "Turian Outcast" seeing as ones of their species who are blessed with Biotics are often cast out to other planets away from the majority of the military.

Yup I think so, it would make sense for BW to just reuse the existing STG Operative power tree and unless there is a change (Which I doubt) I'll swap it to STG Operative.
Something just rubbed me the wrong way with it sharing the same title as the character kit.

Haha yup, I was wondering how long it would take until that would get a suggestion. It was a push to slap Ballistic Blades on him. I was wracking my brains on an alternative or coming up with a new power.
I would move it from the Soldier but then that class would just become a bit of a standard Soldier... but I see what you mean... I'll give it a rework and let me know what you think.

I think the N7 Slayer Vanguard and the N7 Shadow Infiltrator fill that role perfectly, there's no point in just making an Ex-Cerberus version.

Yup, I had the idea of giving the two Turian Ladies the Asari Biotic Dash, it might be a bit OP and BW might not like it but I love that move so much it would suck to not have it.
But I see what you mean, I forgot that Biotic Charge can detonate explosions. I'll give her a rework!

Surge Radiator feels more like a sentinel than a soldier power. Tech Armour/Surge Radiator/Incinerate could work well as a speedier/squishier version of the asari valkyrie. I don't think Ballistic Blades fits Salarians that well either. It's too .. uh, inelegant.

The salarian soldier can already tech burst with overload --> concussive shot (yes, that works) so the radiator is a little redundant on him anyway. Salarians seem more sniper rifle based than other races, so maybe something to take advantage of that? Bring back assassination from ME1 or something.

Actually, I wanna fight the thing of Sentinels not mixing tech/biotics. I mean the paladin is cool and all but he's an engineer in everything but name.

Salarians generally don't do biotics but how about lift grenades? Do they need a biotic to use them or can someone pre-make them for the Salarian to chuck about? Surge Radiator/Incincerate/Lift Grenade would be a competitive class that has its own niche but is still a sentinel.

For the soldier, I'd consider energy drain. It lets him tank but in a way that's thinkier than your usual. He's not a brawler- he hangs back with a sniper rifle and takes the big important shots that turn the tide of the battle. He's the thinking man's soldier. Sooooo

Energy Drain
Assassinate (long cooldown, next shot does massive extra damage. Picked from ME1)
Homing Grenade (?)

Salarian Operative Sentinel has been tweaked so he now has Surge Radiator. =)
Giving him that and Tech Armour will make him similar to the Valkyrie but with Tech properties, I also removed Overload from the STG Soldier to make him unable to detonate Tech Bursts but with Snap Freeze and Cryo Grenades he should be able to prime and detonate Cryo Explosions, you rarely see those these days.

My suggestion would be to change the pathfinder to a female & use the nemesis skin, but rebranded as alliance, character description could then claim how the alliance was finally able to capture a nemesis & aument the implants. Also put the fem-Turian adept in Nyreens robes, not armour, love the idea of cryo grenades, wonder why it hasn't been done before?
Just my thoughts

I like the cryo explosion idea. It feels very Salarian- it's a little less powerful but comes with the big nasty debuff. Two primer powers seems a little redundant, and I still think he should be a hang-back sniper type. The grenade is probably the better choice of the two, because it makes the cryo explosions secondary to the weapons (but still very viable), which is how soldiers should work.

I'm still rooting for assassinate, to give him that STG flavour.

Don't do carnage. It's a bad power and it's out of character for Salarians. Concussive shot will still set off combos but it has a lot less strings attached. I'd consider bringing back overload in its place. Slightly longer cooldown but it doesn't have travel time, which fits better with the long range thing.

If you don't want both having overload, give the sentinel incinerate. He's more of the brawler type, so travel time matters less. Or throw! Throw is good! He's a sentinel and it still works!

Concussive shot is fantastic in conjunction with a cryo effect. Keep it.

Like the map ideas since the Omega playspaces were pretty awesome, and I could live with the weapons, but the kits are... eh. I'm not feeling ANY of those kits. All of them I would pass on, and that's pretty bad. Every previous DLC brought something to the table that interested me. It makes me especially disappointed with the kits since the Salarians used to be one of my favorite MP races.

Care to explain why you'd pass on them? Or what improvements you would like to see...?
Most of these kits bring a new power or combination in along with a new character model so its new and different at least in my eyes it is.

Agreed! Multiplayer is in need of at least one more pack with the assets that are available.
Just 2 Salarian kits just isn't fair!

That's what I try to keep in mind too, there are all these people wanting Elcor, Hanar, Protheans, Female Krogan etc and it would all just be waaaay to much effort to make them feasable or believable in the Multiplayer.
I'd like to think that what I suggested would be appreciated to be put in the game, maybe not to the letter as some power choices I made might not float everyone's boat but at least the kit ideas and model suggestions at least.
Thanks!

It's kinda obvious that if they want to make everyone happy, the'll implement this. I don't see any unique concept.
